Whiskey Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Whenever I score good points, everyone else seems to also . We can just sit in the midfield and drink whiskey @nudge, sounds good to me.
MUFC Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 2 hours ago, RandoEFC said: Results - Austrian Grand Prix A few more double-figured scores in another close week. Here's how things panned out over the weekend: An almost unanimous vote for Max Verstappen to take pole position on Friday rewarded 8 out of 9 contenders with 5 points heading into the weekend proper, with the exception of @nudge, who kept the faith with Charles Leclerc and went unrewarded (so far). Saturday saw the bonus question resolved, with the field split pretty evenly between whether or not Friday's pole-sitter would keep the top spot come the end of the Sprint. @Tommy, @Coma, @MUFC, @DeadLinesman and @Whiskey made the right call here, taking them all onto 10 points before Sunday even arrived. @nudge made up for her qualifying losses by being the only one not to back a Verstappen victory. She made up the 10 points lost on Friday and Saturday with a successful Leclerc-Verstappen double. The rest of the field backed Verstappen for the race win and Leclerc to finish on the podium, scoring them 4 points apiece, with the exception of @Whiskey, whose left-field pick of Pierre Gasly to finish 3rd didn't pay off. Everyone else went for Sainz or Perez to complete their top three, yielding no points, with nobody foreseeing another top three finish for Lewis Hamilton. Finally, not much faith was shown in random driver Daniel Ricciardo heading into the weekend. Only @RandoEFC and @Coma backed the Australian to finish in the top ten, but both have to settle for 2 points having missed out on his final finishing position of 9th by a single place either side. However, this extra pair of points means that @Coma is the highest scorer for the first time this year. That leaves the table looking like this: It's a very cagey affair at the top with three of the top four scoring identical results allowing @DeadLinesman to retain the top spot as the season reaches its halfway point. @Tommy's overtake on @RandoEFC is the only position change throughout the field this week. @Whiskey halves the deficit to @nudge in the midfield battle while @Coma edges towards them and distances himself from @Stan and @OrangeKhrush who continue their close fight over 8th and 9th. Us in the top 4 have had 2 average weeks on the bounce.
MUFC Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Tommy is suppose to be bringing some major updates to France.

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 19, 2022 Author Subscriber Posted July 19, 2022 A little mid-season hypothetical? Go on then. You'll remember you made some predictions at the start of the season, with a total of 90 potential points for correctly picking the correct championship winners, team-mate qualifying battles and various other predictions. Well here's what everyone predicted, and how things would pan out on that front if the season ended now. If the championships continue the way they're headed, @Stan stands to make the most profit as the only one to have backed the Verstappen/Red Bull combination to hoover up both world championships. At the other end of the scale, @MUFC, @DeadLinesman and @Whiskey will be regretting their faith in Mercedes with their man Lewis Hamilton looking like an unlikely bet for a top three finish in the standings just to secure them the 10 consolation points. Those Verstappen/Ferrari backers look good for 30 points out of a possible 40 here and will probably be grateful at this point that they've hedged their bets. The "Drivers to Win a Race" and "Constructors to Score a Podium" picks are obviously hard to gauge at the midpoint. @Stan will be hoping for a Mercedes driver to nick a victory in the second half of the season to get 10 points in the bag for the former prediction, while @DeadLinesman will hope that those pesky Alpines don't sneak a top three finish. A bunch of people currently share the consolation prize for "most retirements" as this is currently shared between Zhou and Sainz (four each) and nobody picked a driver who currently has more than 2 retirements. In the qualifying battles, which are only worth 2 points each, @Coma's pick of Magnussen to win out at Haas looks like the standout prediction. We were unanimous in many of these picks with only Hamilton-Russell providing a bit of a shock at Mercedes and catching everyone out. @Stan, @DeadLinesman and @Whiskey deserve credit for getting the tricky McLaren-Alpine double correct so far but please point and laugh at @Stan for backing Latifi to out-qualify Albon, @MUFC for backing Stroll over Vettel and especially @DeadLinesman for going in on the Stroll-Latifi double! Below are what the final scores would look like if the season ended now, adding in the scores above. I've left them in the order of the real table so you can see who would stand to gain or lose positions and also because I don't want to fuck too much with my spreadsheet! Not tagged earlier as none of their pre-season stuff particularly stands out: @RandoEFC @Tommy @nudge @OrangeKhrush. (Also don't forget your predictions for Saturday )
Moderator Tommy Posted July 19, 2022 Moderator Posted July 19, 2022 Imagine picking Stroll ahead of Vettel in the teammate qualifying battle.

MUFC Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Think the top 4 are quite close on what we all gained points wise. Next week, the final race prior to the summer break. If the top 4 have a shitter and Nudge scores high. The top 5 will go into the summer break with not much between us.
