I expect we will make quite a few changes and it won’t be an easy game. Both sides will fancy their chances of a decent cup run with a win so I think it’ll be tight but hopefully home advantage will see us through.

While this is a 'second string', apart from Begovic all of these are supposed to be first team players. With that in mind, this is absolutely shite.

Brilliant goal from Justin to give us the lead. In total control as expected with the side Rodgers has put out. Just hope we finish the game with no injuries.

Watching on SSN where they show highlights Gordon was lucky not to see red against Bournemouth.

Half time. Still 1-0 to Bournemouth. Still shite from us and getting worse. Looking at that first half performance, it's a bit staggering we're not in League One by now considering how much most of these players have featured for us in recent years.

Not that much of interest going on elsewhere except for Lincoln leading 2-0 at Bristol City. Brentford and Leicester both 1-0 up at home.

Holgate falls over on the edge of the box and Bournemouth go on to double their lead. It's just funny now. A performance like this from our squad players just what the doctor ordered after how shite we were against Leicester at the weekend. 😴

Biggest surprise so far is Lincoln beating Bristol City away. Gillingham drawing with Brentford currently.

Comfortable as you like for us. 3-0 easy win.

A low profile fixture and plenty of players featuring who are well short of match practice but you could say the same of Bournemouth's line up. A truly awful showing tonight.

Fans not happy that we've made 11 changes tonight. The manager will argue he wanted to give other players an opportunity and you can't blame him to an extent after some of the regulars' recent performances. Still, he's opened himself up to accusations of not taking the competition seriously and this is a club dogged by a 28 year trophy drought which used to be something we cared about until we got shit enough to be more worried about relegation fights than anything else.

First signs of the fans beginning to think about turning. Get a result on Saturday here with very different line ups on both sides and tonight probably gets forgotten but we certainly aren't favourites. Lose on Saturday and things will start to get bad for Lampard for the first time. This ridiculous World Cup in the middle of the season coming at a good time for us to have a bit of a regroup because a tiny minority of this squad are in anything resembling even half-decent form currently.

That £60m rejected bid for Anthony Gordon looks an incredibly daft decision now.

And that's probably Chelsea's best result this season.

Called it out at the time. Wouldn't have been totally shocked if the lad was tearing it up this season but as soon as they started going North of £40m, I started saying this is just silly now. Plenty of time ahead of him still but the development in his decision making and end product has stalled for the last 12 months or so.

Don't you quite often seem to get man city?

An odd amount of times, yep.

Been knocked out on penalties a couple of times at the quarter finals, or an earlier round.

2013, 2017 & 2018.

He's 7th in the league, he's 7th in the league, Raheem sterling, he's 7th in the league   ..not sure if Haaland is starting tonight, think he's only 80% charged, another chance for Spiderman to show us what he can do

Yep had them in the quarter finals at home three times in about six years.

We've gone out of loads of cups in the quarters.

All the big guns rested tonight, both fullbacks, De Bruyne, Foden, Haaland, Silva, Ederson ..nice to see Lewis and Palmer start though. Dont think Pep's that fussed about this one

Won't be surprised if we get knocked out here.

Liverpool put out a line up which suggests they really don't care about this. It's against Derby but still wouldn't be shocked with Liverpool going out.

Surprised Kane is playing for Tottenham today.

This competition should not be happening this season.
