I hate with a passion some of the language used when it comes to transfers.

'preparing a bid, preparing next stage of talks'

'club exploring...'

Preparing a bid actually makes sense, because they're transactions for big amounts of money so there's probably a decent amount of background work getting the right paperwork and all of that shite.

"exploring" is just weird though

Will maybe need a defensive midfielder as well. Getting 2 midfielders in early does leave enough time for another but it does once again point to how Liverpool should've done half this job last summer. They are fixing problem areas though so they should be much better next season.

I'm not sure we'll be signing another midfielder after we've brought 2 in tbh. I think Klopp's feeling that Fabinho turning around his form late in the season, the emergence of Bajcetic, and Henderson will probably be enough to cover for the holding role. I've got infinite trust in Klopp, but I am pretty worried considering Fabinho was rubbish for a large chunk of last season (almost everyone was, tbh, but he was one of the worst performers), Bajcetic is just a kid and in the big games I worry about his inexperience (against Madrid he looked like a boy against men, and tbf it was a promising youngster up against Modric and Kroos... so it looked like what it was), and Henderson's a great player but we've got to manage his fitness now more than ever.

It's reported though that we're looking at bringing in another midfielder (and Szoboszlai is looking like he's the one) & then a CB/RB. I'm not sure if that means a CB who can play at RB (or a RB who can play at CB) - or if we'll be in for 2 defenders.

But yeah, this does point to how we should have done this job last summer. Or the summer before, tbh. Tbh, I'm jealous of your American owners compared to ours - FSG don't quite put their money where their mouth is the way Kroenke is doing at Arsenal.

Szaboszlai's release clause was up until the end of 30 June 2023,  it is now July 1 2023 and Liverpool have not paid Leipzig and therefore they release clause should be null and void and Leipzig can sell him for whatever they want.   This is just another flagrant exploitation of rules that big clubs get away with.   Liverpool do not have 60m cash in hand and need to secure credit,  they had 3 weeks to do this now choose on the day to notify leipzig of intent to pay the release clause.

Sorry this is bullshit,  if a store has a sale until end of month and you ask to hold back until you get paid the next day,  the store will not sell you the items,  same principle.   The only way it could be valid is if Leipzig agreed to extend the expiry date which they did not nor do they have any benefit in doing so as of today Szaborszlai is worth 80-100m

The catch to seal the contract is Hendo has to pronounce his name flawlessly three times while staring into a mirror.

Henderson is quite bright. If you had said Elliot or Jones, we’d be fucked.

Carvalho has been a sweetener by all accounts... he's gone there on loan.

You seem a bit frosty?

Newcastle missed out on him. What he meant to say, is that we should be thanking Newcastle because they've assisted you in signing him.

Like Spurs should be thankful for Newcastle in signing Maddison. Somehow.

Haha we’ve paid the cash in hand and paid before the clause expired though

It’s difficult to argue with that. “Gawjuz”  for fuck sake.

Haha, it is a funny read. He was a kid then so harm done I reckon. Fantastic he refers to Newcastle United simply as ‘scum’ and compares himself to Messi and Aguero xD. Andy Carroll had a hilarious bebo account as well, floating around some where out there.
