Think we might have found ourselves a very good RB.

TAA yet again has been absolutely outstounding.

Clyne has his work cut out to regain his place.

Stick one of them on the left mate. They're the best two full backs at the club.

Milner has some cheek acting like he meant that xD.

Illegal free kick from Liverpool in the build up but Hoffenheim can only blame themselves for having the finishing abilities of a bloke after a vasectomy.

I believe a man can still ejaculate after a vasectomy

TAA looks great going forward, but pretty weak defensively imo. Moreno looks like the player we all thought he was before the season started, despite his decent showing at Watford & at the tail end of pre-season. But pre-season is meaningless. Lovren, again, looks poor - he's a real confidence player (which I hate at CB) and without pressure on him for his spot, I think he's gotten complacent and sloppy.

We were much more comfortable in the second half... but some truly shite defending gives them some hope. 2 away goals is, obviously, good news for us.

Don't want to bang on about it at risk of being labelled "bitter" but Liverpool's defence really does look shambolic. Let Coutinho go, buy a good left back (any left back for a start) and a top centre back who can actually lead the defence, one attacking midfield player and a better goalkeeper if there's money left.

A great first leg result to take home though, can't see Liverpool getting pegged back at home.

Liverpool had Hoffenheim sussed out imo. Isolate their wide CBs vs Mane/Salah going forward, and defensively it was mostly just a matter of dealing with their constant high, diagonal balls.

It seemed like they were playing the numbers game and they eventually got some joy by winning high balls in dangerous zones but thankfully they didn't convert. Then at the end Trent just doesn't challenge and they finally get a goal.

Liverpool weren't very impressive but were pretty good value for the 0-2, but 1-2 is still a great base to work with.

Anyone would think we lost?

Come on lads, it's a great result :D

Haha it was a good result. Anyone watching the first half would have said going to the second leg with a 0 - 0 would have been a blessing. Still, it was a bit shaky and the defensive situation hasn't really shown any kind of real improvements. Think we'll edge them at home personally but that remains to be seen.

FC Kobenhavn will be disappointed losing to Qarabag - has a team from Azerbaijan ever got through qualifying in the Champions League? Slavia Prague might be upset with their result as well but not as much of an upset as the Qarabag match.

Sporting Lisbon should be beating Steaua at home but they only need an away goal in Romania to give themselves a pretty high chance of progressing.

Yeah that's a shocking result from København. But I don't know what they expect when they let quality players like Delaney, Augustinsson and Zanka go for peanuts, and then don't replace them.

They had Nicolai Boilesen at CB ffs.

Nah, you're spot on (apart from letting Coutinho go). Hopefully this van Dijk nonsense gets resolved one way or the other very soon, so we can either move on to another target or get him bedded in.

At left back, I don't know what Moreno did to get his place back other than having an alright game against Bayern, but hopefully Robertson will be ready to take over soon. Apparently he's not been playing because his wife's expecting. Failing that, Milner's still around and he's still better than Moreno.

Good result, conceding again is annoying though.

Moreno shouldn't be starting games, shouldn't be on the bench, shouldn't be allowed to wear the shirt. Get Milner back in there ffs.

Also...buy some fucking defenders!!!!

If Zielinski, Diawara, Hamsik and Mertens all start then I think Napoli will win 3-0. If not, then it might be a closer game then I expect. Nice aren't an easy side.

15 minutes and Napoli are running circles around a supposed "superior" Nice midfield.

Great goal from Dries Mertens. 1-0, this is going to be a long night for Nice.
