In  what way were they ruined?

Littlefinger can't scheme his way past the three eyed raven and all Vary's cares for is the greater good of the realm? Hence him siding with Dany.

They were supposed to be the master strategists of the show, but got pushed back when they run out of book material, in favour of the more popular characters. I get that it's hard to outplay the "three eyed raven", but do you think that someone like Littlefinger wouldn't have known that the trial was for him instead of Arya? He has spies everywhere, and certainly someone in that room would have been one of them. He also would have noped the fuck out of there after Bran told him the "chaos is a ladder" line. Varys is very reduced now as well, and only acts as a background figure, if he's visible at all.

He thought he had Sansa by the balls, but it backfired. The only criticism I had was not showing Sansa, Bran, and Arya discussing what Littlefinger really is.

There is a payoff in Littlefinger dying at the hands of Sansa (and Bran). His interest in Sansa was his only irrational weakness in the show and his pursuit of her brought him down. Just like Neds honour, Robb marrying for love, Stannis being obsessed with becoming king at all costs, Tywins hatred for Tyrion etc. Just because LF was smarter than these characters in his own way, doesn't mean he should he impervious to his weaknesses.

As for Varys, his role in the story is as a pro-Targaryen conspirator. He was forced to leave Kings Landing and surrender his influence because he freed Tyrion so all that's left is to join Daenerys. It's a shame he becomes a bit part character late on but the same has happened to many other characters. At least they didn't just kill him off because they don't need him anymore like they've done with other characters (e.g. Barristan).

Ive been wondering, what happened to Gendry in the end? He didn't go to Kings Landing with Jon and co, he wasn't seen at Eastwatch with Tormund and Beric in the finale, was he in the castle? An off screen death seems unlikely after they bothered to bring him back, did they just somehow forget to write in where he ended up? xD

Either they may have had complications with the actor, or Gendry suffered greatly from the cold and couldn't make the trip. He wasn't a trained warrior like the others, and don't think he ever embraced the northern cold.

While these are very good points it still felt cheap. Like Tsubs says the master puppeteer is taken down and completely blindsided like this? The whole thing kind of stank like a 20$ highway hooker. I dont buy it, they simply found a way to kill him off and thought it was this great twist even showing scenes of the girls arguing before that really doesnt tie in if they scheming like this. I like your explanation and the justice in Sansa being his weakness and the 3 eyed raven and whatnot but Littlefinger deserved better then how they played that out.

Sean Bean has revealed that moments when Ned Stark gets executed, all he whispers was a prayer before getting decapitated.

Hopefully that puts an end to "Ned Stark returning ' rumors to bed. Would be weird seeing him ressurected.

Daenerys’ Dragons Are Not Actually Dragons

© HBO Daenerys Targaryen's dragons in Game of Thrones aren't actually dragons after all.

So here's a meaningless but interesting Game of Thrones fact for your Christmas holiday: Daenerys Targaryen's dragons aren't actually dragons.

As pointed out by an eagle-eyed Reddit user, the mythical creatures in the drama can't actually be dragons as a dragon is meant to have four legs and two wings.

Instead, Daenerys' fire-breathing pets fit the description of 'wyverns', which have two legs and two wings, using the wings as an extra pair of legs.

So she's not the Mother of Dragons. She's actually the Mother of Wyverns.

Less of a ring to it, really.

The Reddit post has received over 2,000 responses from people whose minds, of course, have been blown.

And on the topic of fantasy wildlife, George RR Martin may have given us reason to believe that season 8 of the show might just feature massive ice spiders.

The A Song of Ice and Fire author recently posted a picture of the terrifying ice spiders talked about in Westeros legend by Old Nan to Bran.

The picture is for a 2020 calendar, which depicts white walkers riding the terrifying beasts (side note: do they really plan calendars that far ahead?).

Could this mean that the upcoming final season of the show will depict the creatures roaming the land? They certainly wouldn't look out of place...

After all, we're expecting a big showdown between the humans and the White Walkers, and with an ice dragon in tow, why not just bung in a few massive ice spiders to make everything even more chaotic?

Any thoughts? Surely the will be no confrontation with the NK in the crypts of winterfell...? Is that piece about to show Bran revealing the truth of Jon snow? Why isn't bran in the clip?

Maybe the scene is one of Bran's visions? What I find interesting though is, that the sculpture things of Arya and Sansa look like their current age, whereas Jon's looks older. Maybe that means something, or Jon's was made by the guy who made the Ronaldo and Salah statues.

I thought it was Lyannas statue? Many times in the books it was said that she looked exactly like Arya.

I've not yet had a chance to watch any YouTube channel breakdowns of the clip which clarifies such details...
