Devil
A roll of National Lottery £2 scratch cards contains 240 in total. If I was to buy the full roll would I win more than my £480 outlay?

Spike
You'd probably have a better time with low return sports betting with high wagers.
Bluebird Hewitt
I bought a couple of scratch cards recently and think I saw the winning odds (according to the scratch cards) were something like 1 in 3.7 to 1 in 4.2 (depending on the scratch card in question). That's for any prize however and likely to be the lowest one. Either way, like @Spike said, I wouldn't bother.

Surely a few hundred quid cards in the 240 roll though. I'd say you'd make back the £480 myself.

Mate, it's a scratch card of course there is a risk involved but there is still a chance there are big wins in there. I'm not for one second suggesting every roll has more than the value in them. Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted September 24, 2023 Subscriber Share Posted September 24, 2023 I play Thunderball on a Tues/Wed/Frid & Saturday , a £1 a go and win on that on a regular basis so I am quite happy playing that, the most I won last year was £100. on a £5 outlay. Bluewolf
I did know someone who won £100 pound on a scratch card once and thought he would be clever and go and buy another 100 with the winnings and ended up with about £30 quid from all of them.. I think it's safe to say they are designed to recoup any winnings paid out.. If you win say £20 on one of them then I reckon they wouldn't have another winning card for the next 20 in a row until that has been recouped or the amounts paid out in those 20 would be very low like a £2 quid or something... Of course you may get lucky and be the person who actually does win from that, but the more tickets you buy the more likely you are to converge on the average result of you losing money.
