Pep could make loan approach in January after signing him for free

Alexis Sanchez is reportedly ‘devastated’ that his move to Manchester City has fallen through, with the club blaming Arsenal for a deal that had been expected to go through.

According to Simon Mullock of the Daily Mirror, Pep Guardiola thought he had his man at 10am this morning when Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis called his City counterpart Ferran Soriano to tell him that an offer of £55million plus £5million in add-ons had been accepted.

Gazidis informed Soriano that Alexis’ replacement, Thomas Lemar of Monaco, was lined up, but despite having a bid accepted for the French international, they could not close the deal because the player didn’t want to drop down to playing in the Europa League.

Arsenal then informed City that the deal for Alexis was off, despite having accepted a bid earlier in the day.

A City source told the Mirror: “It was Ivan Gazidis who made the first move this morning – calling Ferran to tell him that the second offer was acceptable.

“It came with the proviso that Arsenal had to sign a replacement. But Gazidis indicated that was close to happening.

“It now seems that Arsenal didn’t have an agreement with either a club or a player.

“It’s disappointing but we hope that the strong relationships we built with Alexis and his advisers will help us in the future.

“Arsenal have known for four months that we were interested in signing Sanchez and that the player wanted to leave the club.”

Mullock reports that City will attempt to sign Alexis on loan in January, shortly before his Arsenal contract comes to an end. Having lost out on a £60million pay day, the Gunners now have a very unhappy Alexis Sanchez on their hands, with City ready to take advantage of that as early as January, otherwise the hope will be to sign him for free next summer.

The immediate issue for City is that goals have been taken out, not added to the squad with the sale of Kelechi Iheanacho. Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are now the only natural strikers in the squad, although Raheem Sterling has shown potential in a central role, as Guardiola himself admitted.

He now changed his mind, he wants to become a Everton great

The Ornacle told us all earlier on that Ross Barkley rejected a move to Chelsea - itis now being reported that Barkley changed his mind DURING the medical.

'Ross, get down and give me 50 push-ups will you?'

'I'm off lads.'

Why does the most unfunny prick have to be outside our training ground.

He's been on something special today mate. Started singing a song for Sakho earlier.

Moshiri says deal of £35m was agreed, personal terms were agreed and Barkley wanted to reconsider his position in January.

When he returns from injury and Everton will be pressured to sell for less. Genius.

Just seen Everton signed Nikola Vlasic. He must have scored about 50 goals against me on FM. Most recent two coming in stoppage time in a 4-3 defeat. God I hate that man.

bound to score when you guys play each other then.

BREAKING NEWS

Chelsea are 'very close' to signing Danny Drinkwater from Leicester, Sky Sports News understands.

Leicester valued the player at £40m, but a compromise has been reached and Drinkwater is close to Chelsea's training ground in order to go through a medical.

We understand Chelsea may be given a couple more hours by the Premier League to complete the move and confirmation would come after the deadline.

love how Chelsea get a couple more hours but if it was West Brom signing someone like Geoff Cameron from Stoke it'd be a big massive fuck off from the Premier League.

Everyone gets it if you put in a deal sheet before the deadline.

Regarding the Ross Barkley saga I just hope the club stand firm and fuck him off into the reserves for a year, there's absolutely no way that he should wear the Everton shirt again. He's absolute scum.

he'll leave in January for less money and screw you over that way.
