The idea that you can’t use racial stereotypes in political cartoons, thus all political cartoons are over, is retarded.

The right wing love false equivalencies though so it's not really a surprise.

Using your platform to bring notice to injustice isn't abnormal and makes sense (regardless of if you don't think there's an injustice taking place).

And Nike really isn't going to plummet. Idiots burning their own shit won't have much of a lasting effect. Even if it's an issue in America, they'll still be fine.

It's not important in the slightest... but a bit funny in response to the "NiKe MiGhT gO uNdEr" crowd - they've just hit their all time share high.

Cmon, this is a company that survived child slavery scandals, who could seriously think upsetting bigots is going to kill them?

Lecturers have been banned from using capital letters when assigning work to students because it might upset them. A memo sent out to staff at Leeds Trinity journalism department suggested using uppercase letters may ‘scare them into failure’ It also suggested ways they could address their students, such as writing in a friendly tone and avoiding overbearing and negative language. Critics have since slammed the memo, saying it is just aiding to the ‘snowflake’ generation being overindulged throughout their education

The memo says: ‘Despite our best attempts to explain assessment tasks, any lack of clarity can generate anxiety and even discourage students from attempting the assessment at all.’ It also suggested that writing a word in capital letters could make the assignment seem more difficult and therefore worry the students, according to the Express.

However, one employee said caps were needed to ensure students don’t miss an important part of the assignment. The lecturer told the paper that despite their students being intelligent, they felt the education system just wants to treat them like children. They added: ‘We are not doing our students any favours with this kind of nonsense.’ The memo follows two other universities banning fancy dress and clapping. Kent University last month introduced a ban on students wearing costumes deemed ‘inappropriate and offensive’, such as cowboy outfits and sombreros, because they may jeopardise other students’ ‘right to a safe space at our university’. While at the University of Manchester, the student union replaced clapping with jazz hands in a bid to prevent people suffering from anxiety or sensory issues. A spokesperson for Leeds Trinity said the memo was guidance on how to explain tasks to students so they achieve their full potential.

Life just isn't going to be worth living soon.... what is going on in this crazy world?

Can you knock that on the head please... I don't feel as though you are respecting my 'safe space' on the forum... I feel threatened, and this in turn is making me feel anxious and it may discourage me from wanting to post here....

If you could change your name @Bluewolf that would be much appreciated. Wolf? Really? An animal that hunts in packs to basically murder innocent rabbits? Quite strange that you would want to be associated with such a creature and the very fact that you are using this front to speak directly to me is both intimidating and insulting.

Bluerabbit (preferably in all lower case) would be much more suitable.

Could you also change your name? I find it incredibly offensive. Cannabis or Marijewana has been proven to be the gateway drug to much harder drugs, which takes billions of lives each year. It offends me that you support such genocide that is currently taking place in our society.

Foreverbent would be much more suitable.

Baby It's Cold Outside pulled by radio station, citing #MeToo

It's a Christmas classic probably being played in shops and radio stations all over the world.

But a radio station in Cleveland, Ohio has decided to remove Baby It's Cold Outside from its playlist following complaints from listeners.

Local media report that listeners said the song was inappropriate and at odds with the #MeToo movement.

But a poll on the station's Facebook page showed a majority of respondents did not want the song banned.

Glenn Anderson, a host at the Star 102 station, blogged that although the song was written in a different era, the lyrics felt "manipulative and wrong".

"The world we live in is extra sensitive now, and people get easily offended, but in a world where #MeToo has finally given women the voice they deserve, the song has no place."

Written by Frank Loesser in 1944, Baby It's Cold Outside has been covered by Lady Gaga, Michael Bublé, Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews and actors Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel in the movie Elf.

People attach something that doesn't mean that much to something serious and now if you're for or against that thing that doesn't mean that much you can either be branded a hero or pro-rape. Conflation is one of the biggest issues right now.

The "Me Too" movement is great for women that have actually been taken advantage of but unfortunately no one really cares about the credibility of the movement. It's a sympathy buffet.

David Beckham shared a picture of him kissing his daughter on the lips - some thought it was 'weird'

I'm sorry but if you find any issue with this, I think it is a 'you' issue

This isn't anything to do with snowflake culture. Adults being creeped out by lip kissing, particularly of children older than babies is generations old.

The split is usually down the lines of whether you were lip kissed whilst old enough to be aware of it.
