We are in talks with James Rodriguez according to the Echo.

Christ god no.

He's one of the best players in the world, much better than anything Liverpool have right now. Shocking that you don't want him.

West Ham denied we ever made contact.

Cruelest joke in the world who ever pulled it.

They are saying the transfer has been pulled as Carroll ( shock horror ) has an ankle injury and if surgery is required he may be out for up to 4 months.. Given we wanted to loan him till the end of the season it would all seem very pointless... ( breathes a big sigh of relief )

I hear you have turned your attention to Peter Crouch now.

I’m only going on what I’ve heard and read but apparently he has a shocking attitude and his general work rate in training and on the pitch is shite. Madrid got rid for a reason.

Only what I’ve heard though!

You're not far off, but he's a top player and he's not the fluke from the 2014 World Cup that everyone makes him out to be. He is a very, very good player. The question is do Liverpool need him, and I'm thinking no.

James the drama queen to Liverpool to be coached by the most expensive cheerleader/average coach xD Those who rate him highly have obviously not seen how inconsistent he is.

If Klopp is such an average coach... Why does Mourinho absolutely shit his load everytime he comes up against him?

As they seem to be going for the ones that have a few miles on the clock and a bit creaky I might as well throw my name in the pot... If I act as my own agent I will secure myself a nice fat bonus in the process...

Seems we have hit the bottom of the barrel and are now looking underneath it to see what we can find...

I don’t think so either. I wouldn’t want him to replace Firmino, Mane or Salah to be honest.

That wasn't my point - James is much better than those 3 players. I meant you should have other priorities such as defenders or holding midfielders. You could always look at the quality over quantity point of view.

I don't think he'd play in those positions. He'd probably demand to be the no.10 behind them.

He is right though. Real are showing they are missing James despite his inconsistency.

I've always seen it from this point of view - James was only benched for Isco due to his attitude problems, because really everytime he played for Real Madrid he did well. He was a bit like Kaka in that sense.

Isco is a great player, but I've always preferred James.

We don’t play with a specific No 10 so it would mean he’d have to play as the most attacking in a midfield 3 and by all accounts he just hasn’t got the work rate to pull it off.

I’m not really bothered how good he can be on his day, I hope we swerve him.

He’s not much better than them at all.

He is, by a mile too.

I can't comment on Mane who I haven't seen in a while but he's much better than Salah. Its hardly a debate to be honest. Different style of players, but I'd take a James Rodriguez first over a Salah anyday if I had to build a side.

Don’t be daft.

Not at all xD

He has attitude problems yes, but he's worth the hassle. Think of it this way, Suarez (was) and Neymar can be a problem, but you would still take them in your team any day because they are that good. I see the same in James. Sure he's not as good as those 2 mentioned, but he's still worth the hassle.

Its a preferrence thing but I'd take James over Salah and Firmino any day. He's a top player and as Spike said, Real Madrid are lacking world class depth without him now.
