Machado
Match was stopped at 93:43, which means there were only 17 seconds left to go. Match was then resumed at 96:09 and the goal was scored at 98:01. Why the ref gave so much extra time is beyond comprehension since he only had to compensate those 17 seconds. Do they not inquire about these things from refs? I can understand maybe letting it run till 97:00 but that's a lot of time to be giving away. Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 7, 2018 Subscriber Share Posted April 7, 2018 It's all going a bit nutty for one of Portugals major players: This comes after the 1-0 loss to Braga last weekend. Braga drew 2-2 today and moved ahead of Sporting into 3rd place, though Sporting play Pacos De Ferreira tomorrow in their game in hand. We also missed Porto and their 2-0 loss to Belenenses last weekend. The title race is still close, Benfica won 2-1 today, coming from behind to beat Vitoria De Setubal, Raul Jimenez on target twice including the deciding 90th minute penalty. Porto should beat Aves at home tomorrow and reduce the gap back to 1 point with 5 games to play. Benfica then host Porto next weekend but face a slightly more difficult run in as they still have to go to Sporting away (though who knows what will be going on in Lisbon by then!). Administrator Stan Posted April 8, 2018 Administrator Share Posted April 8, 2018 the debacle with the Sporting chairman doesn't surprise me much. Sounds like he's acted like a kid and thrown his toys out the pram and taken it out on the players. With our signing of Adrien Silva, after the paperwork was completed he didn't want anything to do with it and didn't help the player or his own club with the way he handled the controversy of the finalisation of the transfer. Porto have really thrown it away with silly results like the defeat to Belenenses. Sporting have been a circus for a while but seemed to be on track to get back to their best, with the reports coming out of the club at the moment that's obviously not the case however Four years The later circus actually followed Atletico's match for the EL. Sporting's president had the bright idea of calling out a few players on Facebook for specific actions like not making the right shot as well as poor pieces of defending and poor attitude in general. Imagine Fiorentino Perez posting on Facebook that Modric made the wrong pass It's ludicrous. 19 of the aquad players then made this post on instagram: It's basically criticizing Sporting's president for his remarks and lack of support, whilst emphasising that through good and bad times they always see themselves as a unit and never single out individual mistakes. This got them all (19) suspended but after realizing what a stupid decision that would have been to make (even for his standards), Sporting's president held a meeting yesterday with the whole squad and apparently for now it's all settled down between all parts involved and everyone should be available for their game today. Machado
Club legend already. I've lost count of the amount of times he's won us a game and it's ALWAYS important games where we're struggling, not even being a regular starter. The ultimate clutch player. He'd be the main man in any other club in the league but unfortunately for him we have Jonas who scores too many goals to be dropped.

Aurelio de Laurentiis (Napoli) does exactly the same thing via journalists instead of social media as does the Sevilla and Getafe presidents respectively in Spain. This isn't unusual in Latin countries for me mate. Ridiculous but a regular occurrence.
Panna King
Bas Dost 'determined' to leave Sporting Former Newcastle United target Bas Dost is reportedly “determined” to leave Sporting Lisbon after falling out with the club’s president. The Magpies tried to sign Netherlands striker Dost last summer, but were unable to persuade the Portuguese side to sell. If they do decide they want to come back for him again, a deal ought to be easier to strike after a spectacular fall-out between the Sporting players and their president. Portuguese newspaper Record now claim Dost is “determined” to move on after another prolific season in the Primeira Liga. Sporting president Bruno De Carvalho took to Facebook to complain about his players’ lack of professionalism in their 2-0 Europa League defeat at Atletico Madrid. The second leg is on Thursday. A number of players bit back, 19 sharing a response on social media. Although Dost is not active on social media he was said to have sympathy with them. There were even reports he had been suspended by the club, only to play and score against Pacos Ferreira on Sunday. Even so, Record have claimed Dost is “determined” to leave as a result of the spat. Guest
Paolo Hurtado scores again for Vitoria. 9 goals and 5 assists now. For the team he plays for, he's doing really well. Hope he can get the jump to a bigger side soon. Maybe a mid table Italian team would be realistic.
