Well overrated IMO.

Yeah tbh the primary reason I've never went is because I can grill a chicken breast and rub some spices on it at home.

Ever been to an Italian restaurant? I very rarely go because I can cook a decent pasta.

The pricing is the issue. Exorbitant.

I can cook a decent steak too but won't stop me going to a steakhouse every now and again

Yeah me too but I can't make my own fresh pasta and I also don't have half the ingredients I would normally order, or good recipes for the more complex stuff. I tried cooking a carbonara once but it was shit.

I wouldn't go to a restaurant and order pasta aglio e olio because I really can cook that quite well myself.

I think grilled chicken with some veg and chips is a pointless thing to go out for. It's like a basic, low-effort dinner with very little room for massive gulfs in quality, that you can make cheap as shit.

I’m just trying to understand the anti-nandos campaign above

i rarely order a steak out.

I find pasta the most forgiving thing to cook. Make up your own receipe with a base of either olive oil, tomato or thickened cream. Infinite potential.

Don't you think it's overpriced? Second only to the pancake parlor for me in terms of dollars handed over for what you get.

Not on the level of Grill'd or Schnitz and yet seems to cost more.

And their chickens are smaller than a Coles one!

I can cook a lot of pasta dishes quite well but I'm just saying that there are certain things, either with more specialist ingredients, or with unusual techniques like carbonara, that I can't do well at home.

I'm saying I wouldn't sit down and order spaghetti bolognaise, or pasta with normal marinara sauce because imo those are like bog standard home dinners you can make easily and quite nicely with ingredients you'll almost always have.

To me grilled chicken is on a similar tier of dinners.

And pricing is a big factor as you say, because if you live in a big city, if you're going to go spend fifteen pounds on dinner you can easily get something better and more unusual.

Wait what

I would say that given he was made a Moderator he probably survived mostly on sperm for a long while which does contain enough protein for him to have been able to survive on a day to day basis...

Oh yeah forgot to answer this, my girlfriend (now fiancee) is an amazing cook so she does all the cooking in my house. Considering I met her at University, before that I was living with my parents so they cooked for me.

I had a really shitty cooking teacher in school who was in a nutshell a bully so I literally couldn't cook anything for myself apart from toast, microwave meals etc. I decided that I'd actually try and do some cooking seeing as I'm fucking 25 and did so a few weeks ago :)

Beans on toast taste good?

I've had one recently. This is going to sound a bit weird because it's so basic. But up until last Wednesday, I'd never had to change a tyre on a car.

I shredded my tyre and drove and literally thought fuck, I don't actually know how to change this. I wasn't even sure I had all the bits I needed??

Luckily I had. And once I knew where to sit the edge of the car on the jack and which way to turn it, the rest was pretty easy.

I'm actually embarrassed as a male I never previously knew.

I don't know how to. It shouldn't be a given that every male should do so I wouldn't (and I don't) feel embarrassed about it.

Might be wise to learn how to I guess just for future if I need to do it myself or if I need to help someone else but with most insurance policies you can get good cover for callouts or assistance and sometimes that's the easier option. I'm not sure how confident I'd feel on the side of the M1 or M25 changing a tyre myself if I didn't know how to and had never done it before xD

I disagree (well not about feeling embarrassed maybe) as I'd say that anyone (regardless of gender) who drives a car should know how to change a tyre and how to do at least basic maintenance such as checking the oil etc...

I'd say things like checking oil, tyre pressure, washer fluid etc are a bit simpler and basic than changing a tyre though.

Maybe after actually learning how to do it (or actually performing the task) I'd find it simpler but I really wouldn't know where to start. Naivety on my part perhaps but I'm guessing it's more common to not know how to change a tyre than not.

The only thing I would say about that is some tyres are fairly hefty depending on the model of vehicle being driven and are not exactly female friendly if that makes any sense?? A lot of the more modern motors are much lighter but on older models it can be a hassle even if you know what you are doing.. Should be part of the test though in my opinion to be able to demonstrate that you at least know what needs to be done and where possible actually be able to do it

I drove for about 8/9 months on my brother's old car before I moved abroad and sold it, and I never had to do anything with it besides check the tyre pressure and inflate them.

No idea how to change them at all.

Maybe more challenging physically but still a very basic skill...

And yeah, I can imagine that there are by far more people who don't know how to do it these days. Hard for me to understand though; I personally see it as one of those basic life skills that anyone should have.

Oh definitely, or it can be almost impossible to do it if someone previously over-tightened the lugs or bolts with a pneumatic impact wrench haha. Struggling physically with it is one thing; but as you said - knowing how to do it is the key here and I agree that being able to demonstrate it should definitely be a part of the test.

Never watched game of thrones or breaking bad.

Never lost a 100m sprint.

Never owned a car since passing my test in 2001.

Never won a cup despite playing in 3 sunday league finals, a final for the college team and a final in primary school.

I like to be different.

Only joking, just never felt the urge to drive. Was actually my mum that forced me into having lessons lol.

Can be anything from food to a movie. For me its tomato ketchup, tried it 3 times and think its the worse sauce on the planet. Few times I have ordered a burger or another type of meal. They put ketchup on by mistake, I make sure they make it again  I just detest the stuff.
