And the thing is that it just has to be accepted under that very poor and lazy excuse for being permitted to be racist, xenophobic, anti-semitic, Islamophobic... Fuck it... A lazy bigot!

Why? Well unless one develops a biological difficulty to digest vocabulary and what it means, then being excused is just as lazy from us excusing them as it is for society to accept a crap reason for enablement.

Sometimes it is definitely used as an excuse. I mean unless you live under a rock you must shorly be aware that Asian people don't like the term Paki. Some people say they dont understand why it is offensive, fair enough. However my sister who is very anti racist has never  used it even though she didn't know why it was offensive because she was aware that it was.

Sometimes it is old fashioned ideas though. My auntie for example (who is very educated) said people were more tolerant years ago because they didn't say everything was racist. I suppose in her head that made sense. O.o

Interesting interview with Zaha about the racism he faces on a regular basis (he says nearly every match): https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/wilfried-zaha-racist-abuse-twitter-kick-it-out-crystal-palace-latest-a8946956.html

I wonder if he gets more abuse than most other black footballers in England because he chose the Ivory Coast over us for his national team?

A 32 year old man posting shit like this. The mind boggles

Wondered when you'd get round to posting this one .

I won't have it said that I refuse to criticise him though, what a cunt.

In more positive news, the friendly majority of Blues have crowd-funded (£3000) a banner to support young Moise Kean, in response to the repeated racial abuse he faced playing in Italy.

I'd only heard about that guy who'd been arrested because Everton, the club - not the supporters, put out a statement condemning him and stating that racism has no part of the game. So fuck that guy, but we can't really shit on Everton when they're behaving commendably. And then you couple that with the anti-racism banner for Kean... and it looks a far cry from the club that threw bananas at John Barnes while chanting "N****rpool"

Fuck that racist twat though. I wonder what was said... and if it was similar to what that twat on here once said about Salah (and me)...

He posted a photo shopped picture of Salah with a bomb vest drawn on him. Looked like it had been done in MS Paint.

What a twat. In terms of bigotry towards Arabs/Middle Easterners though, I've seen far worse on Merseyside. But I'm glad he's been arrested, fuck him.

I feel bad for the boy, he was visibly shaken by the fact that he missed the penalty and then all this comes out post that. I don't think Twitter will do anything here just like they haven't done in the past either when it comes to issues regarding online-bullying and trolling or even worse problems with users being racially abusive towards other users. Its a cesspool filled with all kinds of issues that they have never truly addressed.

Twitter won't do shit about racism. Racism whips up a frenzy of activity on twitter from racist idiots looking to join in on the "fun" of being cunts to people anonymously on the internet.

Then there'll be a headline about the terrible shit that's being said on twitter and... the twitter board of directors probably high fives that they've gotten twitter to show up in the news again. All publicity is good publicity and all that. It's the same reason they don't do anything about bots and fake users, despite all the negative coverage about that.

They generally like hiding behind user rights when it comes to tackling really big issues and its happened in the past too. They are incapable of turning off that community because, as you said, it drives so much traffic and creates so much conflict that they can then use to channel stuff as top hits.

I dont think Chelsea will get any joy out of this route honestly and the best they, or any club, can do is to make sure that people who attend games or travel for games dont promote the idea that the club is okay with racism of any sort.

I know it's probably unrealistic but if you walked down the street telling "Tammy Abraham is a fucking n*gger" then you'd get the shit kicked out of you or you'd get arrested depending on who got to you first.

Tweets that are reported as racist should be forwarded to the local police, like what happened with the Everton fan who made that Salah bomb vest tweet the other week.

I think players should start suing twitter. If twitter isn't going to police itself without motivation, maybe hitting them in their pockets will give them the motivation to do that.

The problem there is that unless that person's identified themselves on twitter, they're basically anonymous. But the counterpoint to what I said is that Everton fan got arrested, so clearly it did help.

But yeah, I think that's a good thing for twitter users who see this kind of racist stuff to do. But the thing is, how do I know which police to report it to when it's twitter and they've gone fully anonymous? I wouldn't know who they are or where they are from, would I? Or do tweets have that geolocation shite on them?

More abuse of Pogba in the news. A lot of criticism of Social Media, is there actually more they can do, other than ban the user and send their details to the police? They can't prevent people from posing a racist remark if that person chooses to.

There must be something they can do. Anyone sending racist tweets to players like that should have their account instantly closed and their email address blacklisted from all social media websites. Can't see that happening though. It's also a fine line to tread, if they start picking up on certain words that get posted as part of edgy jokes or just as every day remarks and end up barring a few people they shouldn't have then the "free speech" kick off will be major.

Ideally the solution is for people to stop acting like cavemen but that's just unrealistic.

I used to remember years ago when YouTube first started out that they had a team which actively monitored content for violations and started removing them. I'd imagine any social-media platform would do the same and just have someone monitoring all their content and blocking/filtering out the content. I think three years ago there was a team from the nordics who came up with a very innovative way of flagging content based on context and they were able to reduce the amount of racially abusive traffic on some platform (I think it was facebook at the time) but no one gave them a second chance. It also boils down to how the platform of choice views its users and their posting. If you think the masses will perform an exodus and just migrate then action is taken but in the case of a platform like Twitter its become a common occurrence because they'll be fine no matter how many people leave the platform.

Rashford was given some abuse too for making comments defending Pogba.

It’s got to be so disheartening for black players in England to see racism in football still so prevalent. But rather than monkey chants they deal with it once they’re off the pitch and on their Twitter or insta

Seen that Maguire has said that people should have to sign up with a driving licence or form of ID. Not a bad idea but can't ever see that happening. Would stop people hiding behind a screen though.

They make you do it for betting sites yet Twitter is the world’s biggest free porn site. It would certainly make more sense.

Let me ask you all a serious questions, because I gave up on Italian football because of how Balotelli and others were treated (bananas being thrown and all that shit).

How is this still a thing? We don't this behavior at stadiumds in the U.S. (unless I'm highly mistaken), but whereas he have terrible race relations and have a fued between the NFL and players kneeling in regards to race relations, we rarely have any verbal racist taunting done by fans.

I understand Social Media is a different beast, but from my understanding, the racial abuse towards Pogba was directed during the game...

What the aboslute fuck is wrong with people?
