  1. Results - Gameweek One Not much you can say after that! PSG came from behind to salvage a 3-3 draw at home to Le Havre this weekend but it isn't enough to prevent @nudge, @Viva la FCB, @6666, @Michael, @RandoEFC, @Lucas, @Storts, @Stan, @Tommy, @Bluewolf, @...Dan, @Dan, @Redcanuck, @Rucksackfranzose and @DeadLinesman from going out in Gameweek 1 with zero points on the board. All there is to say really is see you next season and thanks for playing! Surviving into Gameweek Two are @Pyfish and @CaaC (John), who went a different way and successfully backed Lille ahead of their 2-1 success at Metz on Sunday. It's a duel now to see who wins this round! Preview - Gameweek Two The fixtures for Gameweek Two are as follows - a bit of a challenge presented as there are only actually seven fixtures over the weekend: Toulouse vs Montpellier Lens vs Lorient Le Havre vs Strasbourg Monaco vs Clermont Foot Metz vs Rennes Brest vs Nantes Lille vs Lyon As we're down to the last two, you will need to make your tie breaker picks so that we can choose a winner in the event that neither of you picks a match winner successfully, so please pick: 1) A match-winning team that you haven't already used before now. 2) An anytime goalscorer from any of this Gameweek's fixtures. 3) The time of first goal in the randomly selected fixture, Metz vs Rennes. Good luck!

  2. Week 37 Results Jahn Regensburg 1-1 Dresden Bayern Munich 2-1 Frankfurt Edinburgh 1-3 Stirling City Fenerbahce 2-1 Besiktas Juventus 0-0 AC Milan Chelsea Women 0-2 Barcelona Women Amiens 0-0 Troyes Schalke 1-1 Dusseldorf Connah's Quay 1-1 TNS Real Betis 1-1 Sevilla Round-up The personally selected fixtures threw up some tough games to guess for, as there were 6 draws in total, and two of them being goalless. However, two members did predict those goalless draws, and interestingly all players who did predict all got 1 perfect score which doesn't happen too often. Highest score came from @CaaC (John) with 13 points, while @Viva la FCB in 3rd scored 1 fewer point.

  3. Lots of high scores leading into the final few weeks of the season! A very high one from @CaaC (John), who amassed 24 points to go up above @Lucas, and @Rucksackfranzose also climbed 1 place despite only scoring 7pts. Myself and @Storts swap places once again, and just above us @Dan got a Prediction of the Week for being the only one to predict the 1-1 draw between Man Utd & Burnley. And just above him, @Redcanuck scored the 2nd highest of the week with 19 points, and is now just shy of 500 points, a mark that @6666 did surpass.

  5. I mean, it has been widely reported in other media too, and it has been a well known issue since 2021, it's just that Astrazeneca didn't admit to it officially until now. Some people, especially young women, getting thrombosis with thrombocytopenia resulting in serious injuries and death was the reason why numerous countries stopped using Astrazeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines early in the vaccination campaign, especially in people under 50 as the risk was considered too high, even if it is a rare side effect. More reputable sources reporting the same thing: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/04/28/astrazeneca-admits-covid-vaccine-causes-rare-side-effect/ https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-blood-clots-b2536898.html https://www.skynews.com.au/business/astrazeneca-admits-in-court-to-rare-deadly-side-effect-of-covid-jab-as-lawsuits-mount/news-story/79e9b65b5e945eb5616e71d8f96ded0e https://nypost.com/2024/04/29/world-news/astrazeneca-cops-to-rare-deadly-side-effect-of-covid-jab-as-lawsuits-mount/

  6. I think they were destined to come back up. They were pretty easily the best of the 3 that went down last season, and imo they only went down because they persisted for Rodgers for too long after he’d lost the plot. But congrats to @Stan & @Dan

  9. Was he fuck but if he was then he should put the ball out of play. Taylor called on the physio to cover himself. Anyway that's not the reason we didn't win but it's just yet more incompetence/cheating from Greater Manchester referees. Gakpo should have put the ball in the net to make more of an issue of it

  10. This has been an average matchday for us as a group. Matchday 31 1) 6666 10 points 1) Michael 10 points 3) Viva la FCB 9 points 4) Rucksackfranzose 7 points 5) Bluewolf 5 points 6) Stan 4 points 7) CaaC(John) 3 points 7) Coma 3 points 7) Tommy 3 points How tight the table is is best highlighted with none of the shared last week's leaders being on a top 2 spot anymore. That means, you guessed it, we got a new front runner to hunt. Congrats 6666. 11. Nobody scoring double digits, only 2 perfect scores, and more than half of the participants scoring less than 6 points. In other words: A matchday like many others. 13. Kopf hoch @Faithcore! Bedauere, daß der MSV abgestiegen ist, anderenfalls wäre unsere Niederlage in Duisburg wenigstens für irgendwas gut gewesen! Hoffe Ihr steigt nächstes Jahr wieder in die 3.Liga auf!

  15. Dortmund and Reus unanimously decided to end his contract at BVB come the end of this season. Somehow his career almost had a tragic quality. Joined Dortmund in 2012, when they were German champions just to stay for 12 years without winning a single title with them; played a Cl final losing it, and was a regular Germany International starter, when he was injured that seriously he couldn't make the squad for 2014. Allegedly he doesn't want to retire yet, will be interesting to see which is his next club.

  25. Fair play to Leicester, got nothing but good words to say. They have proved to be the most consistant and got over the line when it counted. Can't really remember them being out the Top 2 long at any point over the course of the season and if you end the season with 100pts, it definitely proves you're worthy winners. I think in retrospect given how young and inexperienced our team are (2nd youngest squad in the league) it's shown at various times this season, especially in the games we've had lumps kicked out of us and teams have shithoused. We just haven't handled those niggly encounters too well. And also down the home straight, the lack of experience in our team has been evident in that they haven't quite been able to handle the pressure and expectancy levels our club carries. Leicester's team carry a lot more experience and know how for me and thst stuff cannot be underated in the Championship. The only thing that I find a little bit weird with Leicester has been the reaction of some of the players/club after promotion. I get the game is about a bit of fun and banter but it's come across that they feel a bit triggered by us, whether that was because we beat them twice or nearly pipped them to promotion, not sure. I get some of our fanbase (more so your typical social media one's) can be absolute gobshites so fans having fun, no problem. But the actual players and club using the 'I predict a riot' against us, a song we play after every home game, seems odd behaviour. Seen so many videos across social media mocking us in particular, even at Leicester's own players awards which feels odd behaviour, I just kinda feel in these moments, enjoy what you've achieved and don't worry about us. Maybe it's a back handed compliment, not sure but feels a bit weird considering there hasn't really been much words swapped between the clubs over the course of the season.

  26. Never forget, he didn't start a single game at the WC but was Germanys best performer. Recently Bastian Schweinsteiger said that Guardiolas influence on the Bayern team carried over into the Germany national team and everything became overly focused on simply retaining the ball and completing passes, which has haunted the national team ever since. 8 years of punching air because one of the best national teams in the world plays aimless ball retention while talent like Fullkrug warms the bench.

  27. Im optimistic in how well I think we controlled that match and probably deserved a result but im pretty cautious in that Real keeps doing this. Leipzig.. City now us. We may have needed that result Im not very optimistic we can reproduce that in Spain but we'll see. Its a real shame De Ligt got injured against Frankfurt. Kim hasn't looked good since coming back from Afcon and hasn't been getting alot of matches lately because of that. Its a real shame that both goals where pretty much on him, especially in an otherwise pretty stellar performance from the rest of the team.

  29. Things like a wet room downstairs are in huge demand. They can increase value by between 5%-10%. The key for house maintenance in my opinion is to do repairs ASAP or stay on top of general maintenance like papering and carpet changes/new floors. Too many people leave a repair or issue. In most cases doing it early usually results in a cheaper fix. People leave it for ages and damage can spread causing further issues. Long run it usually ends up costing more.

  31. Real shame that Bayern didn't hold onto it there because at one point I thought they'd have been two up had Kane taken on Rudiger a bit better. Still, this is now going to Spain and Real have been tough at home in the CL.

  32. Goalies feigning injury because they know theyll get treated on the pitch is a loophole that needs closing next season. Bernd Leno did something similar against us on Saturday. He went down and made such a fuss I thought he had dislocated his shoulder. He got treatment for two minutes, Marco Silva had a team talk with his players, Fulham changed their shape and we lost our momentum. I've noticed Wolves in particular being really bad at doing this in the second half this season. The Coventry quarter final being the most blatant. Quite ironic given how vocal O'Neil was about Brentford slowing down play with stoppages.

  34. Based on Kieran Maguire's projections on what a club can spend in comparison to last season you can see why the Manchester clubs and Chelsea voted against.

  35. I would imagine the set-up at United in Fergie's latter years probably resembled the European model a lot anyway, but just that the specifics of it was that Fergie was essentially the DoF/Manager and then he had coaching staff to coach the team during the week and David Gill to help manage everything behind the scenes. With that level of control I don't think the structure at United was too dissimilar to what you see a lot of English clubs trying to put in place with the director of football method.

  36. It is possible to be a very important person with impressive achievements and a cunt of the highest order at the same time... and Hoeneß is a prime example of that Like you, I am enjoying this current Bayern a lot. Long may it last!

  38. Good on Tuchel for not taking shit and speaking out against Hoeneß. When Hoeneß was released from prison, people said he mellowed etc. but after some time he actually got worse than ever.

  43. Potentially good news! My better half and I have an accepted offer on a townhome. We were pre approved and looking around for a few weeks so its come relatively quickly but we found the nearly perfect place for what we can afford. So far so good as they didnt even counter us, just straight up accepted everything. Been running around this week collecting bank statements and going over strata mins etc. We have an inspection friday and thats basically it before subject removal and then we have about 2 months before move in
