Wonder whether the fanbase who persistently and proudly sing 'the Sun were right...' will be happy with the club suing their favourite paper? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/07/manchester-united-file-complaint-against-sun-over-woodward-house-attack2 points

Yes, this sounds like us. My wife also has the tendency to stay on her phone every time we watch a show that you have to pay attention to so you'll get lost. Then, every 15 minutes, she'll ask me for a recap. Drives me nuts.2 points

Knocked off one of the things that was on my 'bucket' list last weekend. Since I moved into my house, I have wanted to run from my house, to my Mother's House, and finish at my Father's house, so I decided to do it this year the weekend before my birthday. I started at 5:30 in the morning, with just a bag, and a lot of water, and ran around Atlanta to complete the journey. I felt great until I got to my Mom's house, where I ended up staying for about 15-20 chatting and eating a PB&J. The Trek from My Mom's to my Dad's was a rough affair. I have ran much further, but this route didn't have sidewalks so I was constantly on uneven soft ground which sooner or later begin to wreck your ankles and knees. Here is my Garmin Tracker form the run. In early March I will be volunteering at the Olympic Trails for the Marathon that is here in Atlanta, and the day after I'll be running the Georgia Publix Marathon on the same course.2 points

Latest update: 31211 confirmed cases (+3151 since yesterday) - 4821 of those in serious or critical condition (+962). 26359 suspected cases (+1657). 637 deaths (+73). 1542 recoveries (+389). 314028 close contacts of the infected have been tracked (+31215); 186045 are under medical observation (-309). The trends haven't changed much since yesterday; there has been a somewhat significant increase in patients in serious/critical condition and also a quite significant increase in recoveries. The total of international cases (including Hongkong, Taiwan and Macau) has risen to 320 (+62). That's the biggest daily increase since the reporting started and it can once again be attributed mostly to the new cases in the cruise ship Diamond Princess quarantined off the coast of Yokohama - they just confirmed 41 new cases when I was making the graph and that makes it 61 total cases in the cruise ship and thus 86 total cases in Japan. New cases have been recorded in Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, Malaysia and Vietnam in Asia while Europe reported new cases (1 case each) in Germany, Italy and the UK. Australia (1) and Canada (2) have also confirmed new cases earlier today.2 points

My favourite big YouTuber doesn't have paid sponsorships! But he did use his YouTube fame to start his own guitar brand, promote his 3 bands, and his solo-artist career... so he's found another way to get more money from YouTube without needing to resort to doing paid ads. And it's less annoying when the ads are for something that content creator also created. But yeah, for the most part to get real money from YouTube (and not have to have an actual job) you need: 1.) a shitload of subscribers, 2.) a shitload of people that don't just subscribe, but also have clicked the button to be notified of when you post up new content, 3.) sponsorships because popular channels make for good product placement. It's not easy either. You have to develop a good YouTube persona, for some people that's just being themselves. For other people it involves getting into character. And I think that's something that'll come to whoever's making the video after they've made a lot of videos. You also need a regular flow of content to upload. This means constantly making videos that are of good enough quality to keep people interested in your channel. The people that run a YouTube channel as a full time job... they treat the channel like it's a full time job. They're always making videos, they set schedules for themselves for when they release content and then stick to those schedules. It's also fairly easy to have your video demonitised or have your video taken down from having too much material that's copywritten by someone else. Unless you're doing something that's totally new or different to other YouTube channels out there... it's probably one of the hardest ways you can try to make a living tbh.1 point

A lot of the time we just like different things so watching our own stuff is no big deal but when something decent comes along that we can both enjoy for a change it's annoying if she just pushes on ahead without me then and has the cheek to moan at a later date because we don't do stuff together as much as we used too...1 point
-
Her idea of us doing stuff together ultimately means me doing them alone.... Next time she pesters me for a bit of the other I might just tell her I went solo earlier in the day and see how she likes them apples...1 point

My wife is the worst at that. I quit watching shows with her for this very reason.1 point

Think next year we’re going to visit family in Genoa I haven’t seen since 2009. Then do a tour of Germany and France.1 point

I think there have been 2 reasons we’ve improved at the back from the start of the season. First we lost our starting goalkeeper early on in the season - midway through the first match. Adrian did well in his absence, for sure, and I am very happy with him as a replacement for Mignolet/Karius. But losing a starting keeper does make a defense a bit more shaky. And when Alisson did come back, he was a bit rusty - but now he looks to be in full swing. And I think that makes a difference Second reason is young Gomez is much better than Lovren & Matip1 point

With the greatest of respects @LFCMike, I don't think those people genuinely would have believed the defence was 'Shit' as you state. However, two clean sheets in Liverpool's first fifteen PL games is definitely more than enough reason for said fans to think that defensively Liverpool looked vulnerable. How can it not? I've certainly never stated they are 'shit'. But I will hold my hands up and say I thought the first couple months of the season you rode your luck when the defensive unit was looking fragile and I stand by that 100% All credit to them for conceding once in the last 9 league games. Great run and look more like the defence of last season. Perhaps the fact there has been less dicking about with the other centre back next to Van Dijk which has contributed to that.1 point

BTW, when you asked me for that, the song was actually "Decisiones" not Pedro Navaja. Same artist though (Ruben Blades). Apologies for that error by the way, been meaning to tell you1 point

And as a consequence of that, most mainstream/popular YouTubers these days are sponsored from huge companies and get paid to do ads etc. That's the real money-earner.1 point

The ones in the daily updates are, for the most part. When I started posting the updates I was trying to find the graphs to post with the data too but that turned out to be problematic (different update times, overlapping data, etc) so after a while I just started updating my own spreadsheet and make the graphs there. Crap I was wondering why the graph was larger in size than the night before but didn't notice it despite examining it a few times ffs. Will correct it when I'm on the laptop. That's what you get for trying to be smart at 3am1 point

How much will you earn from Youtube compared to working temporarily at a grocery store/supermarket?1 point

But seriously it's bloody great data. This thread is legit a much easier place to get unbiased, undramatised data about the corona virus than any other source I've seen online.1 point

Is Rice actually any good or do we just assume he's supposed to be good because there was publicity over which country he'd choose? I've never really been that impressed by him, long way to go. Dier would be a painful inclusion. For me it has to he Henderson, Winks and Grealish. I agree that the momentum has gone in Oxlade-Chamberlain's direction since the turn of the year. Maddison has cooled slightly, Grealish is inexperienced at international level and it's always hard to judge the stand out player in a struggling team. Mount started the season very well but I dont think he's ready to be in this conversation. You know Barkley ends up getting more minutes than any of them though, for some reason. Don't rule out Alli either. If he has a good end to the season he probably trumps the lot of them.1 point

My Dad made a joke that I must be wired differently. Yet I have a lot of friends who have the same passion as I, and we all joke about this hobby of ours. This year alone, I have 2 marathons, a 50m (80.5km) race, and then a race that is approximately 120m (193km)0 points
