  1. Same! Shows how good @nudge's updates are that we're relying on it as a primary news source.

  2. Hahaha...I think the traditional brawls in parliament(yes there have been that many!) are a cause of embarrassment to many of the more educated Ukrainians. Here are just a couple of clips for amusement sake, lol This is how Ukrainian Far Right and Far Left politicians deal with their disputes in Ukraine! Lyashko and Boyko at their finest!(Nooot!) Above, Avakov(Armenian) and Saakashvili(Georgian) play water games at a Ukrainian Government meeting!

  3. Tanner on Firmino: “You should have seen the data that we got on him when he was coming for the first time [to Hoffenheim]. I would say to emphasise that he was even worse than my grandma. You can't imagine." Tanner told Bleacher Report of his efforts to get the South American on board: “You should have seen the data that we got on him when he was coming for the first time [to Hoffenheim]. In Germany, we usually do these endurance tests, blood ones, which are pretty accurate, you know, and he had the worst numbers I have ever seen in professional football. I would say to emphasise that he was even worse than my grandma. You can't imagine. They were so low that you couldn't even believe that he was ever able to play professional football. While early questions were asked of Firmino’s fitness, Tanner claims there was never any doubt that he would go on to thrive in European football. “I was pretty sure that he would be a top Bundesliga player. We do these evaluations in our scouting reports, you know, and I think that out of 10, nine and 10 are international level. And I gave him, I don't know if it was an eight or nine, but I'm sure it was pretty high. Everyone [at Hoffenheim] was a bit curious about that at the time, but I rated him pretty high because I was so convinced about his abilities and even more so by his attitude. When I saw how the coach criticised him [in a training with Figueirense], he was like a schoolboy standing there and listening to his teacher. I still have that picture in my brain. I thought to myself after an hour that if that coach had done that to a German player, he would head straight to the locker room totally pissed off, but Firmino took the criticism well. He tried to improve, to do better. That was really impressive.” Nothing like a good Brazilian feijoada to be fair

  4. Italian nationals with no travel history to China but the first infected patient (a 38-year-old man now in intensive care) fell ill after meeting a friend who had recently been there. Seems to be an untraceable cluster in several small towns around Milan mostly (they haven't been able to trace patient zero so far).

  5. Read that the source of Lombardy is just one Italian national who came back from China on January 20th with no symptoms. Before even this thread started.

  6. Throwing money at the problem. That’s a great way to prove you didn’t throw money at the problem. 20k a day ffs . Bet they become your ‘official’ legal sponsors.

  8. I think the problem also goes back to healthworkers having to do a lot of work in such a short span of time they did a quick look and said its okay you have no symptoms instead of following protocol. Whoever passed these nutjobs shouldn't be anywhere near a quarantine zone because they clearly don't understand that their job isn't just to make sure people don't have the virus but to ensure that it doesn't spread using vector patterns that can't be traced.

  9. This is odd to me too. As a healthworker you shouldn't believe what anyone says during a quarantine. Maybe making more people watch the The Thing before you send them out in the field will teach them the importance of running your own tests versus believing what anyone says.

  10. that's the reason I was kind of looking forward to Klitschko's spell in the parliament; would have made the fighting more interesting with his left hook - straight right technique. But he disappointed by just watching it from the sidelines

  11. Alright so here's an update... I'm not doing the regular updates with daily deltas from China anymore as they've been changing the definitions of confirmed and suspected cases back and forth so as a result their data has been a mess that's impossible to analyse in any sensible way. Their current reported number of total cases is 75465 as of now; with 2236 deaths, 11633 patients in serious or critical condition and 18264 recoveries. Moving to international cases outside of mainland China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), there's currently (as of 15:30 CET) 1345 confirmed cases and 14 deaths in 32 countries + the cruise ship Diamond Princess (the cruise ship cases now have their own separate category as the huge number of cases on it was skewing the Japanese total too much.) There has been a sudden spike in cumulative number of cases in South Korea in the last 48+ hours as it went from 30 odd cases to over 200; mostly related to the outbreak in a Shincheonji religious sect. That makes South Korea the country with the most confirmed cases outside of mainland China followed by Japan. The situation in Iran warrants monitoring as well as they recorded their first case two days ago and already have 4 fatalities as of today.

  12. It would be hugely satisfying to see Barcelona enter some serious wilderness years once Messi is gone.

  14. I don't have an Xbox but do admit that the more I hear about Gamepass and what's added to it, the more I get incredibly jealous, especially as PS Now by comparison is laughable. Also, cheap advertising. The Yakuza games are due to go onto Gamepass in the next few days.

  15. It's killed more people than SARS, but it's also infected a hell of a lot more people than SARS did. The outbreak also happened at the exact worst time for a viral outbreak in China - right before their New Year where everyone's going to be traveling a lot. But yeah, I wouldn't risk going to where there's a sickness that's killing people and is all over the news right now. Especially as China passed that law limiting how much foreign footballers get paid.

  16. Do you mean Harry Maguire? I don't think he's as good as Virgil van Dijk... but I don't think there are many players out there who are that good at defending. Tbh, I think United need a new manager more than they need anything else. I think the style of football they play works well when they're playing sides who are better than them, or when they're up against a side that thinks "well this Man Utd isn't as good as Man Utd sides in the past, we can try to play expansive football against them." Solskjaer's tactically limited and he really only ever sets up United to be good at countering. But when he's faced with sides that aren't going to open up against United, United always struggle with the basics and then tend to play poorly and make mistakes which cost them. I honestly believe the current crop of Man Utd players looks a lot better all over the pitch with a more tactically adept manager. Yes, there's deadwood that needs to be sold and new players that need to be brought in... but I don't think United should look as bad as they have at their worst this season. And ultimately, I think that comes down to their manager and his lack of ideas.
