  3. I think we've seen enough evidence over the past decade that boring politics is better than identity politics. A real liberal revolutionary would be great but that's a once in a lifetime thing if you're lucky enough to find someone that's both capable of delivering a better life to a lot of people in a major way, and also capable of convincing enough of the sceptical public to give them the opportunity. Biden is an unexciting President beyond the fact that he isn't Trump but until you find the occasional person who's going to do something really special and successfully break the status quo, that's what you want. A boring person with standards and principles who just gets on with the nitty gritty of running the country. I know we've all been inspired to different extents in recent years by Jeremy Corbyn or Bernie Sanders but every time you elect someone like that who's hated rather than begrudgingly tolerated by the 45% of the electorate that didn't want them, you get a massive backlash like you did with Trump following on from the first black President in the US eight years later. A few years of steady, middle of the road, competent governance is what the US are crying out for at the moment. Two weeks ago there were domestic terrorists storming government buildings with guns and cable ties. You can't understate just how volatile things have gotten in the US. I'm not saying things would necessarily go that way if it was a significantly left-wing President who is the next one they get when they want to shake up the establishment but that's why a lot of people voted for Trump, because he was different from the hopeless, dry, established political order. There's a lot to be said for boring politics in my opinion. Especially in the US, the President should be a unifying figure. Your revolutionaries are better off making a difference from outside of government to be honest.

  4. You have a bad memory, I have already told you I am Melbourne, Victorian man and grew up out there, I also support the mighty Blues, Carlton.

  5. From my experience optimists seem to enjoy supporting the club more so than the eternal pessimists. I really don't understand those who find negatives in everything we do (not suggesting this applies to you). Im on another chat site, there are always the usual suspects that hardly ever post when we are winning but seem to post all the time when things aren't going well. One in particular never has a good word to say, Crystal Palace for instance, his comment was that we were shite until we'd scored a couple of goals. ffs why do these people even bother?

  6. There’s having faith with reason and then there’s having blind faith, and it’s sounds like you’ve got the latter. Has Lampard really done anything to warrant the faith you’re telling others to have? I appreciate he’s a club legend, but he is doing a bad job. There’s nothing to suggest he has an idea how to get out of this rut, it’s just constant chop and change every game.

  8. It sounds like Lampard has totally lost his way and Chelsea fans are talking about Chelsea the way I talked about us under Hodgson, while pretty much everyone on here insisted we needed to see out the season with Roy. Roy was also a media favourite so there would be loads in the press defending him. I think because of the media, Roy kept his job longer than he should have. I think it’s only fair that Chelsea hang onto Fat Frank for a bit too long before sacking him.

  9. Man City are favourites as it stands. Giving up on the league right now though is just fucking stupid

  10. My sentiments exactly! We are going through a rough patch at the moment, what, do we sack Klopp? To be honest though, Chelsea are renowned for sacking managers at the first rocky road so it wouldn't surprise me if Lampard doesn't see the week out.

  11. Fuck me, how old are you lot? Havnt got a clue. We smashed Sevilla at theirs, where they simply don’t lose in Europe, we went 15 games or so unbeaten?? How many clean sheets? Timo was looking sharp and scoring, ziyech was hot... and now there’s a blip in the road it’s oh let’s change the manager again. Fans my arse, have some faith in the project ffs, the days where managers can come in and change things around and win have gone because we don’t have the experienced squads and players we once had. It’s a new era and it’s time you lot understood that and had some patience.

  14. Again, look at your oppostion. This idea Chelsea massively overachieved is ridiculous. You have talent beyond anything your direct rivals can wish for. Did Leicester, Arsenal, Spurs have better squads than you did? It's an overwhelming NO in my view. He deserves some credit for managing at a new club and getting you your base level top 4, but it was not some against all odds tale.

  15. Don't agree that nobody saw Chelsea getting top 4 last season, it was easily a top 4 squad. Who did they finish above? A Spurs side in complete turmoil after, Arsenal in an even worse state and a Leicester side punching above their weight. Far too much is made of the transfer ban, that Chelsea squad was very good and had finished comfortably top 4 under Sarri (even showing signs of a title challenge early on). Okay, Hazard was a big loss, I can accept that but the squad was still very good, Pulisic actually turned out to be a pretty decent replacement over the season.

  16. Right, I’m raging. Never done anything like this I was going to ring in to talkSPORT this morning but I’d have stuttered. Are Chelsea fans, and some football fans so fickle to see the reality of the situation were in!? We have had endless success since 2005, those days are gone!! Get used to it, we are in a period of transition that includes our youth academy products actually starting to integrate into the team for the first time since probably 1997, we have £220 million worth of players coming into that mix as well. I can guarantee nobody imagined Frank would have given us champions league football last season with that squad, no one. Can anyone honestly tell me that they expected us to challenge for the title this year?? it is going to take us at least another 6-12 months until this squad are capable of going on a good title challenge, had klopp, solskjaer worked miracles overnight? No is the answer. United have been in transition since fergie left!! Liverpool have been trying since the 80’s!!! Get a grip the lot of you asking questions of lampard and having unrealistic expectations, the man needs to be given his time, if it doesn’t click in 12 months time, then I’ll agree the job is above him, but until then, you people need to get real.
