  2. Interesting interviews with Baumann today on the official website and on Deichstube. Main points - new manager, squad planning, goals for the next season. In terms of the new manager, Baumann confirmed that the club had a very long list of names, and after an extensive evaluation process and interviews, we now have three final candidates, and the decision should be announced in the next few days. The manager profile that the club is looking for is mostly about experience working successfully under low financial resources, developing young players, playing attractive but also successful football. He didn't comment on any names, but what I found particularly interesting was the statement that Werder still is an attractive club for managers, and that there were apparently some candidates who were willing to manage us in the 2. Liga despite having options in 1. Bundesliga and other top leagues abroad. Also, Baumann said that we are willing to pay a release fee for the right manager should it be necessary. All this sounds pretty good to me, I hope I will be equally as optimistic once the new manager is announced. According to Deichstube, the three candidates are Leitl, Werner, and Zeidler; but that is nothing official and they also mentioned Breitenreiter and Thioune as potential candidates. Regarding the squad planning - several players in the current squad already said that they would like to stay, some others would prefer to leave. The decision in each individual case will depend on the transfer offers we get. In addition, we are looking to sign several experienced players who know 2. Liga well, and several youth players/players returning from loan are an option, including Johannes Eggestein. Before any transfers (in or out) happen, they want to discuss it with the new manager though, so it will take a while until we see first actions in transfer market this summer. Team should return to training mid-June, with the training clamp in Zillertal planned in early July (only one training camp this summer). Next season goals - not only play for promotion, but also make it happen. Baumann said he is very optimistic that we will have a squad and a manager to reach these goals, and finish the season in the top 3. Despite that, he also acknowledges that the league will be very tough next season. This sounds extremely self-confident and optimistic to me...hope he's right.

  4. For me it is when people score it a '8/10 it was okay'. 8/10 is okay!? I'd say 8/10 is excellent, 5/10 is okay.

  6. That's the problem keeping pet rats is their life span can be around 2 years and a bit and if lucky a lit bit longer, I told the daughter not to get anymore and get a wee cat, Kaiden will love that to bits.

  7. Sorry to hear that too. I actually had pet rats when I was a kid as well. My dad was alergic to most animals so that was one of the things we can sorta get away with. They actually made for pretty good pets but yeah unfortunately they dont have a long life expectancy. Thanks for the condolences.

  11. Right I was a little surprised when we signed him to start with but on the free and in a truncated season not only was he needed but I dont think anyone could have imagined he would score 2 goals in 2 matches against PSG..... so expectations exceeded. Just for the love of god dont play him in midfield ever again please.

  14. It’s not a dick thing at all to be fair. I’ve got plenty of best mates, but personally wouldn’t post pictures of their kids on a public forum without their permission. Each to their own. @CaaC (John) I actually brought this up first in our staff room for discussion. @Tommy isn’t a dick for bringing this to your attention. Whilst none of us are weirdos, anyone can see the pictures. Yes I post a couple of pics of my kids from time to time, but I take the risk and it’s my choice. If I found out someone else was doing it (even a friend), it would piss me off because it’s my choice, not theirs. I’m not having a go, just trying to discuss when someone else might be coming from.

  16. Feel for you buddy, one of our daughter's pet rat died last week and another one she has had for over 2 years is very ill and the daughters just took her to the vets to be put down, wee Kaiden is heartbroken as that is 2 pet rats gone in 2 weeks, he idolises all of them. The daughter has decided not to get anymore but she will adopt pet rats and then pass them on to people, she wants to get a wee kitten and will be content with that.
