Already unofficially ruled out coming back. Today's bookies favourite is Lucien Favre. Not sure who tomorrow's will be. Basically the new board haven't planned. They didn't expect the takeover to happen until January. Some say it'll be a director of football first who will then find a manager. Rather than Staveley and Jamie Rueben. Allardyce has already been on the radio moaning that Bruce is going to be replaced by "a foreign"2 points

I read today that a female Japanese priest has been arrested for giving blowjobs telling them that she would 'suck the demons out of them' I can only assume it was jealous wife or girlfriend that dobbed her in... probably wondering why their partner was going to confession 7 days a week..2 points

Just a bit of advice... If things are so bad on the sex front you are considering having a sex change or even worse luring unsuspecting males for a quick grope in the dark in your hut with that second profile pic then in gods name trim those eyebrows... I once had a moustache that didn't have that much hair on it...2 points

I'm talking about pharma corporations in general being greedy and looking to maximise their profits in an industry which can easily become exploitative as it focuses on the health and lives of people. Pretty much all of those corporations have history of extreme price gouging, patent litigation, corruption, fraud, even manipulating scientific publications, falsifying safety data, etc. All that doesn't mean that any vaccine or drug manufactured and sold by a pharma corporation is automatically something bad, dangerous, or unsafe though. In other words, I can be skeptical of the modus operandi of pharmaceutical companies, and still accept and use their products, based on evidence. One doesn't have to exclude the other. Also, I don't "trust the scientists" blindly and don't think anyone should - science can be misinterpreted, scientists can be wrong, data could be flawed, missing or be unaccounted for, it can be influenced by political climate, funding and bias. I do trust the scientific method though, which, when followed correctly, continuously evaluates all newly acquired information without bias, and proper, objective scientific process which accepts that there's always a degree of uncertainty and that new evidence may challenge existing and well-known theories. So in short, I build my opinions and make my decisions based on scientific evidence available to me, and adjust them if needed whenever new evidence becomes available. That's why transparency and balanced reporting is so important. What became very noticeable in recent years is that many people fail to understand that science is a process, not a singular discovery or the source of truth set in stone. Scientific knowledge is never final or absolute, it is constantly changing. Somewhat ironically, there has been a rise of something recently that could be called scientism, which fanatically spins "science" into a dogmatic final law that has to be accepted without questioning, which, in its essence, is the complete opposite of science and more like religion. Ironic, really. But anyway, I'm rambling here a bit.2 points

I'm not the most active admittedly, but mine was probably when I blocked a shot in 5 a side football, sprained my ankle and as I fell, I landed and dislocated my elbow, fracturing part of my arm in the process as well. All I mainly remember is my mates saying that I was high as a kite when I had morphine to click it back into place. That's the NHS at times. Communication is generally a shit show at the best of times. My nan had a letter on Friday to have a consultation for surgery at a specific hospital. They obviously haven't noted that not only is she in hospital, but at the actual hospital the letter specified.2 points

I would not say that Fury totally dominated last night. This was Fury's toughest fight of the trilogy against Wilder. Fury certainly dominated the 2nd fight as he spanked Wilder around the ring. But I'd say Wilder won 3 or 4 rounds of the fight yesterday, with Fury winning about 6 or 7 of the rounds before Wilder was knocked out in the 11th round. Wilder started with intent in this fight and he was a threat throughout, despite Fury getting more punches in and being the better boxer. Listen, if we hadn't seen what Fury has been able to recover from in the past, most of us watching that 4th round would have said that's it, Wilder has won it. But Fury recovered from those huge hits as we have seen how he's recovered in the past from huge punches that have floored him(That late knockdown in Fury v Wilder 1, is a case in point). Even though Fury definitely had the upper hand in most of the rounds, Wilder always posed a threat and he landed with some big punches even in the later rounds when he was clearly tiring. In my opinion it boiled down to the fact that Fury is the better boxer, he is the much fitter man and he has a heart of a lion. However Wilder used his big punches to good affect last night, but even that wasn't good enough, as Fury proved too skilled for him in the end. Fury has it all, he's got the height and weight, he's extremely skilled and he is quick on his feet. He also punches very hard, regardless of what some of his critics might say. Fury is the complete package and it's always a pleasure to watch him fight.1 point

That is because of rise of people like Richard Dawkins and their cockfight with religious folks they present science as something like a checkmate.1 point

Big pharma companies have always been massive cunts, to be honest. I have absolutely nothing against them making profit in general, but there's a line to be drawn somewhere... Best recent example - Merck has developed a new promising Covid treatment in form of a pill, and now are selling it at 40 times what it cost to make - that's just fucking mental, especially considering that they received significant funding from the US government for research and development. Greed has no limits.1 point

Funny one, Daily Mail reported that on Thursday Steve Bruce took a more active involvement in training than usual, with speculation that was in case the new owners popped by Look busy1 point

Malaga is lovely. Went there for a day trip when I went to Fuengirola/Mijas. In fact a lot of that southern Spain region is so nice to be in. Been to Torremolinos, Marbella, Puerto Banus in addition to the 2 above. Love visiting there. Also never been to Italy - we were thinking of going somewhere in June for ages so started looking at flights. Looked around loads of places in Europe - Florence, Rome, Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona, Bilbao, Nice, Porto, Prague, Dubrovnik but all flights were coming out very expensive. Then searched Milan and flights were only £80pp return!! Couldn't believe it was so cheap considering how popular it is. My brother and his family were lucky - they flew out to Lanzarote and thankfully I don't think the ash affected them as the wind was blowing the ash the other way. Same for the return flight, don't think it reached that island but it was heading towards Spain apparently at some point...1 point

Have fun in Malaga, Chris! As for the La Palma volcano, the ash is already affecting flights in Tenerife, a few had to be diverted from North to South Airport today already1 point

I've always had a soft spot for clubs like Newcastle. Well supported, interesting part of the country, and a lot of history even if the silverware isn't there.1 point
