  1. Good on them, hope they will have a happy life together. On the other hand, imagine their petty arguments in the future: "Can you do the dishes today?" "I did them yesterday...and the day before...and the day before that...In fact, I'm ALWAYS doing the dishes in this house." "I gave up the royal family and sacrificed 1.3 million dollars for you..." "..."

  2. I'm not scared of getting the virus and I wasn't before I was vaccinated. I am scared of passing it on to my Nana or colleagues/students who are vulnerable though so I get the vaccine as it reduces the chance of that happening if I and everyone else gets it. If I choose not to get jabbed based on my own Facebook comment science instead of actual science and end up contributing more to the spread in my community and increase risk of serious illness or death of the vulnerable sections of that community then I'd be just a bit of a selfish cock, especially when the jab costs me nothing. Is there some reason behind you thinking differently if you had Covid already? Maybe. But it's hard to take that as your genuine reasoning when in the next breath we're hearing conspiracies about destroying businesses and totalitarianism. Stuff like that is dangerous, unfounded nonsense and even on a platform as tiny as this one needs to be challenged.

  4. So disappointed in you. I came into this thread hoping that you just posted the latest UK study regarding transmission reported by the BBC just a few hours ago; even got my popcorn ready and all... And yet it's just a strawberry flavour meme instead. Meh.

  7. No one is saying it completely stops you from spreading it. I'll say it again, reduces the chance

  8. I don't know any of them but if they are anything like you and the other unjabbed I know then yes, they are afraid and that's OK. Own it and check it. Pumping alt right shite and arguments that are all other the shop seems like the fear is a little unchecked to me. Many got jabbed out of fear of the virus, I've already said as much. Particularly over 50s. Typically they're actually OK admitting to the presence of that fear in my experience. For some too it goes unchecked and that makes them seek out more frightening news or become scared to go outside. Familiar? I've never come across an unjabbed who isn't afraid of the vaccine. Whether they choose to recognise that in their language and themselves or not. The central tenant of the argument of the unjabbed is that the vaccine could be dangerous to them. A sense of danger and harm is the very definition of fear.

  9. Reports are that ROH will release all talent from their contracts at the end of the year. Without them, there wouldn't have been the All In PPV meaning that AEW probably wouldn't have existed. At the time it made sense to play a big part in a special "one off" PPV but in hindsight, things have gone downhill for them ever since.

  10. Scottish independence would be a nightmare for both parties. Look at the mess that has been made in Ireland thanks to Brexit. There is no Good Friday Agreement to cause quite as much bother in a sense but as long as the UK remains outside of the EU there's an absolutely colossal border problem between England and Scotland where all of the infrastructure in place has been built to treat it as one country. I don't blame the Scots for wanting out (or about half of them anyway) but the real solution for all parties is to get rid of the current government in Westminster and replace it with one that a huge number of Scottish people don't find repugnant. Too bad England doesn't seem to want to play ball with that idea, and the Scots are fed up of waiting for it to happen, which is why I totally get the desire for independence. It still doesn't make it a good idea though. And that's not to "do down" Scotland. It's just that getting away from being governed by Westminster is one thing, the reality of building an independent government, constitution and economy from scratch, a return to the EU, a Southern border, it's all very complicated and will take decades to iron out the creases.

  12. Went to a hockey game yesterday. Awful weather, constant rain and wind, a Chicago speciality, but it is indoor so that is okay. The seats were fantastic 6th row from the ice, skewed just about a quarter of the way towards one net. Sat in front of a group of yuppies, constantly talking, talking, talking, talking, about their lives and themselves. I feel like I know these people intimately and I should be going out to dinner with them. One kept talking about school in the richest suburb in Chicago and how people from New York 'only work for the big banks or wall street', it was maddening being sat next to these crazy, out of touch people that live in their little world so distant from anyone else's. Also the away fans had some louder chants than the home fans and the people I was by were all limp wristed and never joined in the the chanting and calling. Now, I understand why you lot hate fairweather fans and executive suites so much.
