Just that he was cast aside by Stuttgart, but is good enough for a top job in Austria. Surely he was a better option than Bruno.1 point

They aren't deluded. They just aren't educated about the political reality. Because there are no mechanisms in the UK for good information to be delivered into the public sphere. Politicians have every incentive to lie to suit their own needs with no significant consequences, the majority of the privately-owned media is utterly corrupt and the BBC has been cowed so badly by the last few years of Tory government that they won't relay accurate information about anything political in their programming for fear of getting hammered on their impartiality rules. Most people still don't have the first idea that you can't just "reverse Brexit" and you can't expect them to because, unless they've gone looking for the information themselves or happen to have acquired some relevant knowledge through their education, nobody's ever told them.1 point

I had no idea that was allowed. What a terrible law. I'm sure it would be stamped out in most other countries but will have no hope in America1 point

Congress passed a law a long long long time ago that says members of Congressmen/women and Senators can make trades based off their insider knowledge without getting penalised for insider trading - so long as they report those trades within 3 months of making them. So it's not so much illegal as it is blatant corruption. I was shocked though when a few senators last year were exposed of having made insider trades without having reported those trades. Imagine you have the ability to make money using insider knowledge nobody else in the country can do, so long as you follow those rules... and you decide not to follow those rules. And funnily enough... they remained unpunished for crimes that would send normal people (even wealthy people in the US) to prison, just because they had leadership positions. I think those people are more concerning than Pelosi - Pelosi is playing the corruption game, but she's playing by the rules like the rest of the corrupt leaders of the US. The US's biggest problem in politics is the incredible lack of accountability. I don't think any Congressman or Senator should be allowed to be making any trades tbh, they should be forced to have their investments held in a blind trust managed by someone independent. It is a disgrace they are allowed to benefit from a system in ways that nobody else in the country can benefit from.1 point

He already did before running for President. Trump's the first president since Nixon to not release his tax returns. It's sort of become the normal practice for running for president, to demonstrate transparency. I think what I was most shocked to learn about Trump's tax returns is that he, as an individual that is not a citizen of China, has a Chinese bank account. It is incredibly difficult for foreigners to open bank accounts in China, even for people who live and work in China. It definitely poses questions of how the fuck he managed to get that account.1 point

Ha!!!, when I retired I still kept waking up at 04.30, jumping out of bed thinking I had to get ready for work, which lasted for about a week or two.1 point

Yeah, but what I meant was that sharks as a species are older than rings of Saturn Sharks have existed on Earth for over 450 million years, whereas the rings of Saturn are estimated to have formed around 100 million years ago... In fact, sharks are also older than trees, and they have survived four of the five mass extinctions - the only animal to do so.1 point

Picked up Stray over the Christmas holidays and loved it, finishing the main story this morning. It's not the biggest of games (I finished with a time of just under 7hrs) but it was really fun to play a game a bit outside of the box, playing as a stray cat in a post apocalyptic world inhabited by robots. I played it in three settings and was glued to the screen for each one - I only wish it was a touch longer (or that the devs would potentially drop a DLC to keep the story going). If it's ever on sale (for around £15 or so) then I really recommend picking it up.1 point

Honestly mate, there’s nothing scary in this film. Watched with with the kids loads. It’s a bit sinister towards the end before it’s all nice again but your kids may not even understand that aspect of it. Sabrina’s been watching it since she was 3 and loves it. Loved it so much this was Halloween this year….1 point

I get your point, but on the flip side, how many poor sods ended up with traumatic brain injuries for simply looking at a bouncer the wrong way? Whilst it’s still on the whole incredibly rare to be knifed to death inside a club (I know numbers have risen), kickings from doormen were a dozen a night and often resulted in horrendous life changing injuries.
