Going back to Bangkok in a few weeks. Decided to explore the Chinatown this time, as I have passed it by a few times, but never really went there properly at all... It is supposed to look almost the same like it did some 50-70 years ago; so not like modern Chinatowns in other countries like Singapore etc. Looking forward to all the street food and Peking duck!2 points

Yeah it's a worrying story. Very mysterious. On an active work phone call, dog left alone, just literally disappeared. Apparently there's skepticism over police saying it's likely she fell into the river. It's not a fast-flowing river, and is quite shallow, and it's been searched for miles in each direction yet no sign of her. Very, very puzzling.2 points

I'm afraid I'll be out of town then. And yea, it wasn't meant as racist, but I can see it now.1 point

Never played the original. I still have the disc for Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge, which is a bit awkward as my laptop doesn't have a CD drive (not that it'd work anyway).1 point

Yeah it only shows how it went airborne. Anyway, it was another great race. The top 3 finished within 1.4s, which is impressive for a 12h race, especially since there were no interruptions in the last 4 hours. Some drama too, as with less than an hour to go, Maro Engel in the GruppeM Mercedes AMG tried to overtake Jules Gounon in the leading SunEnergy 1 Mercedes AMG, but didn't manage to make a clean pass and forced the leading car to spin, resulting in a drive through penalty for his team. They returned to the track in 3rd, having lost P2 to Manthey Porsche, with Matt Campbell then chasing Gounon and fighting for the win up until the very final lap. It was 3rd in a row Bathurst victory for Gounon, and second in a row for GruppeM team. Valentino Rossi and team finished in P6. Another endurance race next weekend, this time the Asian Le Mans season opener...1 point

I wanted to post this as well on Friday, but the video is kinda weird. It doesn't even show the whole crash. Glad he's alright though!1 point

Must be a great mattress! It’s important but that’s a lot. At the moment with the mortgage being absolutely ridiculous I am not going all out on anything for a while. For the first time ever I’m going to have to actually budget soon I think.1 point

It's only +6 at Bathurst, so the race has to start behind the safety car as Pirelli tyres need two laps to warm up1 point

The person who bought the land and ordered the monument to be built in 1980 used a pseudonym, and then later transferred the land rights to the state, so nobody knows who that person was. These were the 10 guidelines inscribed in the monument in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian): Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity. Unite humanity with a living new language. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court. Avoid petty laws and useless officials. Balance personal rights with social duties. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite. Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature. The center column featured a hole drilled at an angle from one side to the other, through which the North Star could be seen. The same pillar had a slot carved through it which was aligned with the Sun's solstices and equinoxes. An aperture in the capstone allowed a ray of sun to pass through at noon each day, shining a beam on the center stone indicating the day of the year. The monument doesn't exist anymore, as last year, someone blew part of it up with an explosive device, and then the rest was also demolished. There were previous attacks with paint etc, as some people apparently believed that it's a demonic Satanist plot or the 10 Commandments of Antichrist.1 point

Twin Peaks Honestly having a hard time struggling through this, especially now that the supposed 'best' part of the series is apparently behind me. I get that it's old but there's shows from around the same era that aged much more gracefully. I don't get the appeal and the criticisms I see online are primarily discarded with variations of 'it's supposed to suck.' It's sad because it inspired a lot media that I do enjoy, so I was more than ready to enjoy this, but alas.1 point

You would have got a +1 if you didn't mention rep score. Why the fuck do people get so obsessed with it? Make more of a mention about it than I ever have. Bore the fuck off. Anyway, you won't have to worry about it soon cos I won't be around here for much longer anyway.0 points
