Paki was the term given to people of Asian origin back in the 70/80s by the far right skinheads. Not just to people of Pakistani origins - basically anyone with brown skin got labelled a Paki. So yes, it is a racial term that shouldn't be used. Think there was a trial game once in an indoor arena but wasn't that much of a success.

Not that much difference in fairness between the top third of the National League and the lower half of League Two I think, probably nicer to be at a club with a bit of drive playing easier opposition than going to Morecambe and desperately try and stave off relegation. Decent little project Harrogate have going on at the moment though, they managed to slip under the radar last season because of the Salford love in, but are building to be a serious force to be reckoned with I think.

It's not like that wasn't said numerous times though by people in the remain camp. If I'm honest, I don't have much sympathy for people who voted against their own interests because they didn't want to put in the time to learn exactly what they were voting for - just because a bunch of Brexiteers were making outlandish promises to them (many of which weren't very consistent). For years the EU has been used as a scapegoat, and people feeling the EU was why they felt left behind while other areas of the country remained prosperous (or became more prosperous) are soon to realise that it's actually Westminster to blame for the neglect of the parts of the country that aren't London& the South East.

Yeah they didn't seem like the best source but I was lazy and that was the link that was right in front of me - and yeah the North-South divide (although it's really the London + South East vs the rest of the country) has always been a thing. It's just particularly startling when you see how bad things will be in some places, particularly Wales, the North East, and Yorkshire. Anyone young outside of the South East and that voted for Brexit because they felt London & the South had left them behind, I think will ultimately end up feeling even more left behind.

Murray is aiming for a singles return this year. Definitely not Wimbledon and doubtful for the US Open in August. Would be good to see him return as nobody has ever returned to competitive singles after having the operation he's had.
