  1. Pointless going to a Stand Up show or the Cinema for that matter of you are going to spend most of your time on the bloody phone...

  4. It's Dave Chapelle's personal requirement for shows. Are you a compulsive phone checker? I wouldn't have a problem not having a phone for the rest of my life if it were feasible

  5. A brilliant film that and the scenery shots were awesome too, @nudge, @Bluewolf I think you would like this and anybody else who likes Viking films, the fight scenes were classic, I would give this film top marks.

  6. Ah, yeah okay that does make sense then. I mean personally I have no problem with it outside of the time it takes to do all this but we kinda rushed out when they where done and got there early so only took us maybe 30 mins extra? Well thats why they setup the areas inside the concourse where they have someone at the entrance/exit of the fenced areas to unlock and relock the cases as you come and go. I suppose if you just put your phone on vibrate you can feel it in your pocket still and go check it. Somewhat less convenient but I didnt really mind tbh, not that Im really one to be glued to my phone at any type of event anyways. Im super stoked for Bill! I am also big fan but Id probably still choose Chappelle first

  10. That sounds strange. What if there's an emergency in your family or something and someone has to reach you asap? Anyway, I'm jelly that you got to see Dave Chapelle and that you are going to see Bill Burr too! I like them both but Bill is probably my favourite.

  11. I will have to watch that one next then. The Northman just came out last week in theatre only I believe. Sam director as The VVitch and The Lighthouse if you have seen those https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Northman

  13. A bit off-topic a bit but when I did security work back in 2001 I had a weeks shift in Wick which is right up the top of Scotland and there are the remains of Wick castle which was thought to have been built around the 14th century, I went on a miles walk to get to the castle which is on the edge of the cliff and you look down and see the waves crashing around the rocks below, they say it was built there as they had Viking raids landing below and would try and fight them off, went inside and as the castle is falling apart really over the ages, there were 2 bits of shale lying on the ground so I bought them home for the wife and she still has them lying on the fireplace's hearth, so I have a bit of 14th century inside our flat.

  15. Reminded me a bit of the National Treasure movies in that regard... the first one was (little font) somewhat realistic but the second shot to the moon. Still fun movies where you can turn your brain off and just enjoy. Im a pretty big fan of the games so I had some idea of what to expect and actually Tom Holland did a fairly decent job...even though I think Nathan Fillion was born to play that role and even knocked it out with the little 10 min fan funded video they released years ago of Uncharted. Mark Wahlberg just played Mark Wahlberg... he wasnt a good choice for Sully on any level other then they clearly wanted "A" list actors to launch their big budget mega action franchise. I got what I wanted out of the movie more or less anyways I guess but fairly forgettable.

  16. I was due to watch this with someone else but got let down so ended up watching all on my lonesome with just some snacks for company... I did enjoy the scene with the helicopters, that was pretty swashbuckling.. Not great, not awful, just another adventure romp that filled a couple of hours.. 6/10

  19. And oh my god, I've just read that these exist for every race and I know what I'm doing for the rest of the afternoon.

  20. I seem to recall hearing that he was going to Benfica not long after I posted that. I'm surprised because that feels like a sideways move. Also, the latest talk on Adi Hütter seems to be that he will get at least another year in Gladbach. I would've thought Wolfsburg or Hertha, maybe even Schalke if they were promoted would have been options.

  22. 25 years ago today, Heinz-Harald Frentzen won his first GP in Imola. He was my favourite driver back then. I remember watching the race, and being nervous for him in the last few laps, hoping that his car doesn't break down, and then jumping on my parents' couch once he crossed the finish line.

  23. Lmao, it doesn't really help the idea that Russia is the one distorting history. Ukraine realises it's a "mistake" to group Japan as one of the Axis powers, because they're so desperate for Japan's help that they'll happily re-write history so as not to offend them.

  24. Went to see Dave Chappelle on the weekend, hes still the goat, man hes just so good. Jeff Ross opened up and he was absolutely savage, also did an audience volunteer roast on stage. Great night overall. One side bar but this is the first time Ive ever seen or heard of this. The venue was Rogers Arena (Canucks home rink) and as you where going in one by one they ushered everyone through a booth where they wrote down your seats, section number and info because they locked our phones into a soft pouch with those like department store security pins so you cant take it out until you leave and they unlock it or they had designated areas fenced off to let people use them in the concourse. I dont know if this is going to become the norm for concerts or if its just comedy shows. Were going to Bill Burr in June next so Ill see if they do it again. We were early enough it wasnt an issue but show was supposed to start at 8 I think Jeff Ross came out to open at nearly 8:45 and the arena was still maybe only half capacity.
