OrangeKhrush Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 I haven't really invested into wrestling in many years now, but I had started watching the dedicated wrestling channel and the documentary series over the years and the vintage matches. It was a good watch. I am not sure if wrestling will ever be better than that 90's to early 00's era. Quote

The difficulty they have is that they pretty much did everything in that time period where WWF and WCW were fighting each other for more of the mainstream culture. Quote
Dave Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 I'm surprised how meh I am about All In a week out. Only Tony Khan would be able to generate a WrestleMania size crowd in the UK and then put together generic Wednesday night matches. Quote
OrangeKhrush Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 the big issue is the PG era, you don't get those holy shit moments anymore. Quote
Lucas Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I don't know a lot about Wrestling but that's really sad. I was about to be sceptical but from what I read, it was heart issues and he had some kind of complications having contracted Covid initially. Quote
Subscriber JoshBRFC+ Posted August 25, 2023 Subscriber Posted August 25, 2023 Man was a fucking genius. And so so so entertaining and captivating. A very different creative mind to that of what we have been used to in the wrestling/entertainment world for many years. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted August 25, 2023 Administrator Posted August 25, 2023 Very sad to hear. Haven't watched wrestling in a long time but he was part of the group when I did used to watch and he was very entertaining. So young too RIP. Quote
Dave Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I had the impression something wasn't right when he just stopped preparing unexpected right before WrestleMania, but you don't anticipate that would lead to the death of a 36 year old. Very sad news, pretty sure him and his wife have a young child to. Quote
6666 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 (edited) Damn, just heard about this. Had no idea he was absent for health reasons. I just thought they didn't know what to do with him right now. Also weird how Luke Harper/Brodie Lee also died suddenly. Had 4 kids as wells. Have to feel for them. RIP. Edited August 25, 2023 by 6666 Quote
Bluebird Hewitt Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 (edited) Only just saw this and was surprised to hear about it, especially as he was only 36(!!!!). Hearing this and Terry Funk's passing has made this a sad 24 hours or so for the wrestling world. RIP. Edited August 25, 2023 by Bluebird Hewitt Quote

Dave Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Had one of those 'how did that happen' moments yesterday when I was looking lost by escalators and a kind member of staff upgraded us to pitch side. Excellent show. Quote
Dave Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 CM Punk fired from AEW. Right before All Out in Chicago. Quote

Sounded like it was inevitable after last week. Would WWE/Endeavour want to risk getting him? Him and Reigns with a Heyman angle would be pretty special… Quote

If Shaun Stasiak went off script in 2001 against Steve Austin, he would have been put in his place at the earliest opportunity. Its exactly what has happened here with Jack Perry and CM Punk. I'm amazed Jack Perry hasn't been fired in all honesty. Not because we've seen very little improvement in four years, but for someone whose very fortunate to be making a wage to go in to business for himself in the biggest show x8 AEW have ever done. I don't get how you could ever trust someone whose worth very little again. 1 Quote

The problem both times, has been that some dumb prick has called out Punk on national TV, and Punk has escalated it in response. As someone said online that I saw. Imagine if say, Zak Ryder when trying to make a name for himself called out the Undertaker on national TV. He'd be punched in the fucking head the second he got backstage. Management would then side with taker. Now I'm not saying that's 100% right, but Perry should be punished severely, and Punk should certainly not be fired for telling him to fuck off then grabbing him when he came at him. Quote

I think he was fired because he threatened that little bitch that runs the company. Quote

6666 Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Tony Khan saying he felt people's lives were in danger. CM Punk has always been a guy that rarely gets on with people so when it's immature, slimy, fratboys like The Young Bucks and their friends, you always knew things weren't going to go well. Quote
Spike Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 CM Punk for what it’s worth is incredibly nice in person to his fans. It’s not uncommon to run into him at Cubs games, and he will always give people time. 1 Quote
Dave Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 The Rock is back. Roman as Champion until at least WrestleMania 41 then. Quote
