Marvel just happens to be another part of cinema now. I love the horror genre, others hate it. No shite like Human Centipede though. I like myself some horrors, Human Centipede was so bad and so gross but I had to watch it....I watched it years ago when I lived back home with my mom. I remember her walking by the living room during one of the centipede marching scenes and just the question "what the hell are you watching" I will never forget Im not sure I could even answer her properly because I dont even know what I was watching. Anyways I agree about the marvel shite, I have 0 interest in any of those, I havent watched most of them. Themes is a good idea, I like being exposed to genres I wouldnt otherwise watch, Ive been pleasantly surprised by alot of films that way.

I'd say theres some stuff that is very high quality and probably trumps the phrase being thrown around called 'real cinema' but as a whole yeah its got more terrible than good.

Yea I was kidding. I always wanted to watch Grave of the Fireflies? I believe that's the name. As for Horror. Not my favourite genre, to say the least, but I'm open to new things.

Is there anything in German cinema you'd recommend? I remember watching a movie called Coffee in Berlin? Is that the name? I quite liked it.

Tom Schilling was great in it. There are a few good German movies. My personal favourite is "Good Bye, Lenin", and of course there's "Das Boot" and "Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others). Ulrich Mühe was great in that, and he died shortly after filming it.

Lola Rennt is class. Also: Das Experiment Die Welle Knockin' on Heaven's Door Der Baader-Meinhof-Komplex and of course Otto - Der Film

I have seen all of them..

Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted January 14, 2020 Author Subscriber Posted January 14, 2020 Think we are going to have a few issues with availability for some films!
DeadLinesman Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 We just need a general consensus and we’ll be alreet. Start off with some easy ones to get the juices flowing and a feel for the conversation.
Cicero Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Is there a specific order of who gets to choose?

nudge Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I'd say @Pyfish should start given that it was his idea in the first place

DeadLinesman Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Don’t think we have a theme as such. Dealers choice.
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted January 15, 2020 Author Subscriber Posted January 15, 2020 I'm happy to go first and like the idea of a relatively easy one to start with to get a taste of what kind of discussions we'll get. Am I choosing the film, the theme or just suggesting a film?
