El Profesor
In my opinion, it would be a huge mistake to repeat that midfield of Guimarães-Caqueret-Aouar against City. City will destroy Lyon if Garcia insists in this formation. Bruno Guimarães is not a defensive midfielder and he was quite bad against PSG and Juventus in that role. If he wants to start Aouar and Caqueret, then the third man in the midfield should be Thiago Mendes or Jeff Reine-Adélaïde.
Happy Blue
Hope we don't over look these and rest players for Bayern, lets win this first Ederson Walker - Fernandinho - Laporte - Cancelo De Bruyne - Rodrigo - Silva Bernardo - Jesus - Sterling

But I'm not sure they can provide the defensive strenght to face City when they don't have possession. I hope they do and we have an exciting match. binder
Does Lyon have a chance? Bwin does not think so. I get the feeling man City is beatable, Memphis looks like he bulked up in the last few years. Really dont know a lot about Lyon

Yeah they don't have a typical defensive midfielder, but Caqueret's work rate and defensive abilities are very good and of course the 3 at the back makes them more solid defensively. Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted August 15, 2020 Subscriber Share Posted August 15, 2020 Lyon need a bit of composure they are getting dragged all over the pitch and forcing unwanted passes when they need to hold the ball.
El Profesor
Cornet's been really good in that 3-5-2 system. Perhaps his future is at full-back? Also, really good match from Ekambi so far.

binder
Maybe I should have net the house on Lyon, I would have 11,3 houses in an hour. Lyon look good for the lead, so far.

binder
The Bwin betting odds- not to be confused with netting odds- have dropped almost 4 fold since kick off.
God is Haaland
Lyon's goalkeeper is so incredibly mediocre, he's completely unfit to play at this stage of the knock out phase.
Michael
Lyon have a deserved lead and Man City are not really making a statement so far.
Administrator Stan Posted August 15, 2020 Author Administrator Share Posted August 15, 2020 Lyon have been organisationally superb. Tactically keeping Man City quiet and making it so difficult for them to get their fluidity going in the final third. And McManaman still wonders why they've not scored a bucket-load tonight just because it happens in the Premier League
