I can see why Lampard would go with five at the back as we've managed to control a lot of the game against these lot when we've used it against them previously but nevertheless I hope we continue how we have been doing recently, with the 4-3-3.

This is a very different team to the one you played last year to be fair.

I thought Lampard had got past the 'making subs too late' problem. Hadn't seen it mentioned recently by the Chelsea fans here and maybe it coincides with the good form you've been in.

Frustrating.

We knew Mourinho's game plan from the beginning and couldn't do anything about it. Forced Spurs to a few mistakes yet couldn't capitalise at all. Attack was wasteful. Tammy has improved his overall game but connecting to crosses still an underlying weakness.

On the plus, defence still looks sound. Long season ahead.

Think it wasn't an issue until yesterday. Giroud was adequately brought on against Rennes and I can't really remember any other game where Lampard made poor in game decisions. (I'm basing this on when he finally made the tactical switch from a 4231 to a 433).

Thought Tammy had a good first half which was why Lampard left him on a little longer than he should have.
