Leicester, Manchester United certainly given incentive. Spurs, Liverpool, even Everton dangled a carrot. Of course nothing to say they won't do well without him but he has been their best player.

Vardy out for us for a few weeks so if anything, this is a huge chance for Man Utd to create a gap.

Not saying that either team is a 1-man team but if Man Utd players stay fit and maintain their momentum, having those injuries plus Liverpool out of form right now, they probably won't have a better chance all season to pull away a little.

It does all seem to be going their way at the moment. I'm going to end up eating my words I think.

More records broken 😎

We won all nine of our competitive fixtures in January, the most by a team in the top four tiers of English football in a single month since the formation of the Football League in 1888.

It was a remarkable month, one that saw us move from eighth to first in the Premier League, qualify for the FA Cup Fifth Round and move into our fourth-successive Carabao Cup final.

We scored 24 goals and conceded just two in the process, winning six Premier League games, two FA Cup fixtures and a Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford.

Very impressive. But that record probably has more to do with teams not playing 9 games in January in the vast majority of seasons since 1888.

Man City's have bossed it over the past month and a bit, but their next 4-6 weeks look interesting.

Just come through an easy period of games (for the most part), aided by their welcome break thanks to COVID...

Next league games being:

LIverpool away
Spurs home
Arsenal away
West Ham home
Man Utd home

Plus the first leg against Gladbach in CL and away FA Cup game vs Swansea (which they will most likely win both).

I can't see them winning all the league games though. Might not pull away as much as many expect after a good run of form...

(prepared for @Happy Blue to say they'll come out of this period of games with a 100% record xD

Understood neither of the lads have ever seen floodlights so big before

Be fair, it's not every young lad gets the opportunity to join a club with such a fantastic European pedigree. xD

All these records and trophies and nobody actually cares other than City fans. First club to buy (sorry win) the domestic treble and it's not even been spoke about hardly since.

United do treble in 1999 and it's still lauded to this day.

Liverpool win first League title in 30 years and there are documentaries and street parties during a global pandemic.

City can win 50 games on the trot, win countless trophies but the money spent building over a ten year period has turned people off football. He bought the club, he bought the A list players, he bought the best backroom team in European football, he then bought the best manager in world football.

One thing he will never ever be able to buy..... The respect of the real football fan, any success gained by a club that's been grown organically will always dwarf whatever success City have built from cash.

City fans may say United and Liverpool have spent silly sums, but that argument has it's flaw....... We've earned that money by being the two biggest sporting clubs/brands in England and it doesn't matter what City do or spend or win, that won't ever change.

The End......
