nfb_10 Posted July 10, 2017 Share Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) This is an amazing episode from Anthony Bourdain's show, focusing on Trinidad & Tobago, and I thought that it'd be a fantastic watch for anyone of you who wanted to know a bit more about T&T's culture, traditions and food. Anyone who has approximately 45 minutes to spare should give it a watch. Trinidad is a really diverse and interesting place and there's a lot more to it than what people from the outside give us credit for, and I thought Bourdain did a fantastic job highlighting a lot of it, so...yeah, I recommend watching this to anyone interested in learning more about my country! Been up and down every bloody hour for the past 3 nights more or less. cant settle for shit and I am knackered. Still went to work though because there is no man flu that's manlier than me Anyway I digress Was up about 5am ish this morning only to hear a load of stuff being thrown into the back of a van and doors slamming so thought it was local pikeys on the rob or something but turns out we must have had an early morning raid somewhere round here as there were about 4 vans and 3 carloads of old bill most of which were in full body armour just wrapping up and heading off Let you know if I find out what it was about.. nfb_10 Posted July 12, 2017 Share Posted July 12, 2017 This is a Trinidadian delicacy called "Doubles"...I'm aware they sell Doubles in Canada and probably the US as well, but I'm not sure if the Europeans on here would've ever heard of it...when people come to Trinidad one of the first things they want to do is taste a Doubles from the place where it was born! It's fried bara ( flat fried bread ) with curry, channa and additional things like cucumber and mango in it as well. How do you guys think it looks?
