All it takes is about three more home wins with the crowd carrying this lot over the line against teams who are about as bad as us or have nothing left to play for closer to the end.

Struggle to see what we even gain by surviving though besides posterity. Just earning another season of much the same. At least we could play against some new teams in the Championship and maybe even win a couple of games.

Easier said than done. You have to find buyers for these players, abide by FFP. This sort of thing isn't realistic in football anymore, and certainly not when you've been as stupid as Man Utd and Everton have in giving out long contracts with high wages to players who turn out not to be worth it.

You need managers to come and get something half-decent out of the players you're stuck with. Lampard has shown some signs of that with Iwobi and Kenny but nobody will get any such joy with the likes of Keane and Coleman at this point.

We have some good players in midfield and attack but there's a great big hole in creativity in the final third and our defence is an absolute shambles.

Been absolutely class for us. Very promising. Such an upgrade on Moura

I expected defeat for Everton tonight, albeit, much more competitive than that. It's more about the next two for me with them though. Wolves and Newcastle home.

Now if they happened to not get 3pts in either of those, my ears would prick up, especially if we could find back to back home wins this week.

Tonight isn't going to determine whether we stay up or not. But there are defeats and there are defeats. Lose 1-0 to the league leaders with a refereeing grievance to use as an excuse and it's not really going to affect you long term. Losing any game 5-0 though has the potential to impact upon you psychologically. The first goal against Wolves is huge. We're capable of winning that match but if we start poorly and go behind, the crowd respond badly, we'll end up in real trouble.

Lampard got it badly wrong tonight with the high line and put way too much faith in the ability of Keane, Coleman, Holgate to do their jobs to a competent level and not make stupid decisions. I do believe he is capable of resetting this team after tonight though, and that's what we need. I hope he learns that for the rest of this season, away games need to be shithouse affairs where we basically play for a 0-0 and score on the break or from a set piece if we can. He can't be learning lessons about this team for too much longer though. Michael Keane has been letting this club  down for five and a half years now and Coleman has been past it for about as long. These have been observable facts for a long time and we shouldn't need to be getting tanked 5-0 for the manager to realise that. I'm all for giving players fresh starts and showing faith in them to improve but its naive to think you're the first guy who's tried that approach and it'll be different this time. We're 17th and a bit of pragmatism to get us to safety this season wouldn't go amiss.

Yeah he looks so good, footwork is a foot or two ahead of his opponents, for someone who’s seemingly a bit slow/idle he really manages to work well in tight spaces. Deceptive

spurs getting Leeds and Everton in a row is a good confidence boost for their top 4 aspirations.

Everton are getting to close to being the team that proves that lots of money doesn't mean anything if your player recruitment is bad.

It was refreshing initially when we went down, the problem is you’re suddenly no longer a “big club” in the modern fans perspective if you do. Your best players get cherry picked and you lose out on targets to the likes of fucking Fulham. However nice to win a league and get back but it’s a tough league and the stay can be more than a season. Personally I think the you’ll be ok

The danger with the relegation battle is that a team sits in 16th/17th, a win here, a win there, nothing special, pretty poor at times but outside the drop not overtaken, then whoops, you slip in at the end.

Whether you are 19th or 16th right now matters for your psyche but not much more than that, every team needs to be trying to get to 35 points.
