Happy Blue Posted Saturday at 17:29 Share Posted Saturday at 17:29 Liverpool away, it's a must not lose game we need a miracle for me we have to risk KDB from the start, 4 CB's in a flat back 4 as pure defenders not joining the attack and Nunes & Grealish in the midfield to give us some speed and energy which is controversial but they will walk around Gundogan & Bernardo which is probably what Pep will play lol, Foden & Savinho on the wings with beefy tits upfront, this wont be what Pep players but id set up like this Ederson Akanji Dias Ake Gvardiol Nunes Grealish Savinho De Bruyne Foden Haaland
Administrator Stan Posted Saturday at 18:33 Author Administrator Share Posted Saturday at 18:33 Brentford will be wishing they could play us every week. Buonanotte's goal didn't faze them one bit. They stuck to their game plan and it flourished, exposing James Justin with ease. Willing to bet about 90% or more of our goals conceded can be attributed to our right side of defence. If they get through Justin we've got the absolute clown that is Wout Faes in central defence. I'd love to see Van Nistelrooy exploit the weaknesses that Arsenal are identifying. But I think we just don't have the personnel to lay a finger on any side these days. Pereira and Fatawu out for the season. Absolute chumps like Soumare and Faes waltzing around like Sunday league footballers. Can only hope there's a new manager bounce before we face a disgusting run of fixtures - Newcastle, Wolves, Liverpool, Man City and Villa to see in the new year. It was for a fleeting moment but it needed to happen otherwise or a ugly win would have masked over the fact that the club is going backwards. Howe will be very high on the list for next sacking. Nice guy but mid table to bottom. I think much of the reason we shop at the relegation end of the table is because nobody wants to play for Howe. They need to move up a level now. Maybe Edin Terzic or Adi Hutter.
Dave Posted Sunday at 09:24 Share Posted Sunday at 09:24 I really hope yesterday was a catalyst moment for us in our season changing. It was a weird game in the sense that if we eaqualised immediately after Newcastle scored it would have felt like two points dropped. But the moment of Munoz scoring his first ever goal, Glasner running half the length of the pitch to join in the celebrations, the Columbian visitors around me celebrating like they had won the Euromillions, it felt like our luck was changing. We're going in to a crucial match with a much better mindset now. This was the type of game that at the start of the season we lost against Brentford, West Ham, Forest etc. Far too lightweight in front of goal and the opposition converting the chances they get. So in that aspect you have to say since the international break we are seeing a gradual improvement. I'm happy for Glasner as I'd rather see him turn this around and learn that we can't have a small squad in the first half of the season than David Moyes replacing him as manager. I have no doubt both managers would keep us up, but I reckon it would be very hard to persuade our sellable assets to sign new contracts even with release clauses if we were to revert to the stereotypical experienced British manager model that we adapted previously. It was great for its time and would probably still work but the perception people have in modern football is different and it would be more difficult to attract a certain calibre of players and fans would turn quicker. We need to maintain that intensity we had today for 90 minutes against Ipswich and it's not something we've been able to do away from home this season. Newcastle were such a cynical, meandering side. They came to sit back and they couldn't believe they got a goal. No intensity at all. They were a negative team playing negative football because they were in a bad run of form. One point four players were on the floor at the same time. At another point Willock went down. He gets treated on the pitch, and then seconds later Isak went down, all because they wanted to make a sub and the sub wasn't ready to do it. So they took about three minutes to move things around until they were ready. I think it's generous to suggest Eddie Howe's done OK in the last 18 months and he's certainly not England Manager material. As for us it's about making gradual improvements. Players are coming back from injury, massive game mid week, stay in the mix until January when we hopefully bring in Rayan Cherki and we move up to our traditional 11th-14th place finish. Rick Posted Sunday at 11:24 Share Posted Sunday at 11:24 Gutted that Konate is out for a few weeks, but I trust Gomez to come in and do a job. Think he’ll be good today. I do think we can give this City side a good hiding as things stand. Would be a statement result. Will be very disappointed to lose this one. I’m quite confident though. 3-
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted Sunday at 14:16 Subscriber Share Posted Sunday at 14:16 Barely managed to catch any of the first half but Man Utd have done next to nothing by all accounts and yet find themselves 2-0 up. I'm so sick of this club. The manager is now 3-4 matches past the point where any other club would have sacked him but of course it happens to us at the exact phase of the takeover where the current owners and incoming owners both won't do anything about it until it's done. Two more matches of the Moshiri and Dyche eras after this, all being well.
Administrator Stan Posted Sunday at 14:22 Author Administrator Share Posted Sunday at 14:22 Chelsea looking comfortable. Some favourable fixtures coming up to stay in the title race (or at least be a challenger to Liverpool). And a hefty squad to choose from... Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted Sunday at 14:30 Subscriber Share Posted Sunday at 14:30 I honestly hope we end up losing this 6-0 because only something like that will make it untenable. Sack Dyche, and then I actually don't care what comes next. Give it to Baines for the next few fixtures until the new owners can come in and choose a proper manager. Dyche is currently heading for a 0-0 at best against Wolves midweek (which he'll claim in his post-match press conference is a decent result and we've had a lot of problems at this club since before my time remember) followed by defeats to Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. You genuinely might as well just roll the dice for the Wolves game, hope the removal of an unpopular manager galvanises the players and the crowd. We're losing the next three after that either way. Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted Sunday at 14:38 Subscriber Share Posted Sunday at 14:38 3-0. Pathetic. You can tell the reports about Dyche starting to go through the motions at training are true. We had some bad losses in the last two years but the basics haven't been in place all season. Poor structurally, no plan, not well drilled. Sleep walking from the fringes of a relegation battle to the thick of one which could have been avoided again.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted Sunday at 14:53 Subscriber Share Posted Sunday at 14:53 4-0. Ridiculous behaviour from Tarkowski this time. I like to think now that the players are of a similar mind to me and they're trying to make sure this is the last time they play under this manager. It's not that though in reality, this is just how shite we've got. 4-0 down after 65 minutes to a bottom half opponent.
