not sure how they've worked out positions gained.

They've given it to Brendon Hartley who started on 15th and finished to 10th so only gained 5 places.

Yet you have the following:

Raikkonen from 13th to 2nd (11 places gained)
Sergio Perez from 8th to 3rd (also 5)
Charles Leclerc from 14th to 6th (8 gained)
Marcus Ericsson from 18th 11th (7 gained)

I've been looking into it for 10 minutes and still have no clue what that's supposed to be xD Some seem to correspond with the actual starting grid, but some are just completely off, and it's the same for previous races as well. Now I'm curious xD
