Harry Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Apparently Netflix were making a documentary about Kyrgios and tsisipas and recording footage from this match Quote
Harry Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Kyrgios had the talent to be so much more, but his temperament has doomed him. He's uncoachable. Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted July 3, 2022 Moderator Posted July 3, 2022 Two Germans in the quarter finals! Watched Jule Niemeier vs. Heather Watson on the tablet next to F1. She played amazing! Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 3, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 3, 2022 Cam Norrie keeps the British interest alive. His first run to a Grand Slam QF, well done to him. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted July 3, 2022 Administrator Posted July 3, 2022 Shame about Alcaraz. Sinner was just too good for him in the end. Very bright future for both. Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted July 5, 2022 Moderator Posted July 5, 2022 Remarkable achievement for Tatjana Maria. She's a two time mother as well. But I was rooting for Jule! Still a great run for her first Wimbledon appearance. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 5, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 5, 2022 Goffin and Norrie going to the wire. Thought Goffin was on track to take it in four but Norrie has been really gutsy to stay in it and is playing his best tennis toward the end of the decider. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 5, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 5, 2022 Norrie wins and makes the semi finals, very well done. Quote
Lucas Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 Annoying to see Djokovic come back but even when they are two sets down, you'd still not back against Novak or Rafa to turn it around. There are rare occasions of course bit usually the rest are not quite at that level enough to go for the kill against these guys. Hoping for a Kygrios/Rafa semi tomorrow. That one would really fascinate me. Quote
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted July 6, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 6, 2022 Was impressed by Jannik Sinner v Djokovic - did well to take the 2 set lead and fought to the very end to give a good game to Novak. Quote
Lucas Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Kygrios breezed through. He's getting better as he goes, that serve is really clicking for him. Gameface on for him now, he's in uncharted waters, first Grandslam semi, you'd back him for the final at this rate. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted July 6, 2022 Administrator Posted July 6, 2022 Can't believe Nadal got through Left just before the 4th and thought he'd end up retiring hurt. Shocked but happy to see he went through! Quote
Administrator Stan Posted July 7, 2022 Administrator Posted July 7, 2022 Is this dodgy? Or nothing to be worried? Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 7, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 7, 2022 Kyrgios is due to face some sort of domestic assault charge when he returns to Australia. Another reason not to buy into the "oh he's such a maverick, McEnroe come again, people just don't like him because he's confident and Wimbledon people are just being snooty and he's *Box Office*" stuff. He's a tit. 2 Quote
Machado Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 (edited) The mad man is going to do it Nadal injured, Djokovic looks very beatable and the crowd is only going to be behind one man. Edited July 7, 2022 by Machado Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 7, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 7, 2022 Nadal has withdrawn now, shame. 1 Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted July 7, 2022 Moderator Posted July 7, 2022 Never thought I'd be rooting for Kyrgios, but here we are. 1 Quote
Lucas Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Shame for Nadal but ultimately I think asking to win a semi and a final was going to be too much with the abdominal pain. It almost feels like it's Kyrgios' year, it's all falling his way and when he takes to the court on Sunday, he'll be well rested since Wednesday. He's playing really well, as I mentioned before, that serve is clicking. He will never have a better chance. Fingers crossed he can pull out another big performance. He could well have a lot of the crowd on his side. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted July 7, 2022 Administrator Posted July 7, 2022 Oh Rafa Good luck to Norrie! Hope he wins the whole thing. Quote
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted July 8, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 8, 2022 Djokovic v Norrie is live now on Centre Court. Norrie broke Novak's serve for game 1, with Novak then doing the same to Norrie for game 2. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted July 8, 2022 Administrator Posted July 8, 2022 Easy for Djokovic in the end. Norrie never seemed to have the consistency after the first set. Almost tried too hard. Hope he beats Kyrgios. Don't necessarily like Djokovic but can almost tolerate him more than Kyrgios. And he's definitely more talented. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 8, 2022 Subscriber Posted July 8, 2022 Fair play to Norrie for taking that first set, more than I thought he'd be able to pull off, but ultimately comfortable for Djokovic. You'd expect Djokovic to get the win on Sunday but Kyrgios is one of those players who despite being ranked 40th in the world is probably in the top ten that you'd back to potentially pull off the win against an all time great in his first Grand Slam final. Djokovic a clear favourite though. Quote
