  1. Honestly, please continue with your updates Nudge. I am really appreciating them

  2. Really don't know what does any of it have to do with me though. The only things that I'm posting here are the official numbers of confirmed cases + deaths + recoveries reported by each country every day as well as some preliminary research by virologists and epidemiologists working on the forecast models based on the same data - simply because I like staying up to date with what's happening and I thought some others might find the data interesting as well. If that comes across as "desperate" then fair enough.

  5. Latest update from China: 17238 confirmed cases (+2827 since yesterday) - 2296 of those in serious or critical condition (+186). 21558 suspected cases (+2014). 361 deaths (+57). 475 recoveries (+147). The number of recoveries is increasing nicely. The number of confirmed cases outside mainland China has risen to 183 (+24); 1 death (in Philippines).

  6. Understandable, the Chinese government has started taking serious restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus now. This is quoted from the notices we've been sending out at work: 1. Free traveling not possible in big cities and certain areas; 2. Prolongation of the Chinese New Year Holiday (which is already a really weird time to be in China as places that are usually busy as fuck end up being quiet as fuck instead) 3. Prohibiting groups of more than 40 people at work (which has to be so strange for Chinese companies) 4. Inspection of all employees at the beginning of a work day. 5. Transportation restrictions. Pretty massive restrictions that are going to massively impact Chinese businesses from operating normally and will make obvious impacts on people that work with Chinese businesses.

  8. Do you ever get one of them moments where you instantly regret opening your mouth??? I am not long in from work and not even got my jacket off and was making a cuppa and casually said to the missus, "How was your day??" I then get a 20 minute ear bashing that covered everything from Spiders in the seating area outside to my daughter and boyfriend troubles... seriously wanted to put my cup down and go back to work.. Also didn't ask how my day was because she clearly doesn't give a toss..

  9. From what I read, he was 17 and downloaded some terrorist type documents but didn't get any further. I don't think it'd be that difficult to talk plans of killing innocent people out of him at that stage and at that age once you have him in custody especially with the involvement of people close to him, non-psycho religious leaders, psychiatrists, etc. That should be enough to undo being radicalised online. Don't know what the current protocol is though and maybe it works in most cases with others that are similar to him. There is a discussion to be had though and how prison works should be reviewed but as you said, most people don't work like that so most politicians won't bring it up. Even though it actually means a safer country in the long term.

  11. Tbf it looks like she's just following the news story and tbh the updates she's given us have been better than any of the news reporting I've seen on the spread of the virus. And I don't think posting graphs that demonstrate it's got a lower mortality rate than SARS indicate she's desperate for it to some global pandemic wiping us out

  13. Cowboy is one of my favorites fighters in the UFC, but what is he famous for in a bad way? He starts fights super slow and chokes on the big occasion and it both happened. Conor did well no doubt about it but talk about finding a fighter that has all the weak sides to make Conor look good. I'll say it again even tough i don't like the man, he isn't a bad fighter just isn't that good as people suggest. For example right now Tony Ferguson would probably murder him, while Khabib already shown that he doesn't need to break a sweat to defeat him. Conor can obviously still fight in the UFC but i don't see him getting a title shot unless it is gifted to him.

  14. I thought the Rumble was well written with Brock Lesnar. Every elimination had a purpose and he sold The Claymore Kick. I didnt think they'd pull the trigger on Drew but I'm glad they have. Charlotte winning wasnt ideal but I'm prepared to be patient and see how they progress this. Winning the Rumble gives her more heat. X-Pac Heat has pretty much been considered a good thing since, well, X-Pac.

  16. Winning the league is normally done by being consistent against the poorer sides in the league. There's not always that one defining tie where the crowd can play their part as well as the players. Ask Liverpool players why they're inspired on a European night or why Chelsea or City players shit themselves at Anfield despite being way ahead of Liverpool sides in the league. City's fans just don't inspire them at home either. There's always an aura around these sides that are historically successful in Europe. You can't buy that, as City and PSG have found out.

  17. Lampard saying Chelsea are underdogs for top 4 might work a bit better if they weren’t 6 points clear.

  18. That approach of the right players at the right price at the right time has been Klopp's approach. Sometimes though, when a club knows you're exclusively in for your player... they can squeeze a bit more out of you, as we found with Virgil (granted, getting caught tapping him up probably hurt our case ). Assuming pressure doesn't mount on Lampard, which I fear it will because it's Chelsea, but assuming pressure doesn't start piling up with Chelsea's issues and the lack of investment... I think this is the correct approach. Those specifically chosen players (although there should always be backups - Salah was a B option for Klopp... but what a second choice, because he was still identified as a particular player that'd take us up) are the players that'll improve Chelsea pretty massively as they're bedded into the squad. But there's always little overall tweaks and improvements that can be made with the current crop of players, who aren't bad, they just need to have errors coached out of them. And fixing those errors and the whole squad getting good at consistently doing the basics right means that overall there's more consistency in that side and that little tweak translates to a bit of steady gradual improvement. I think overall that's better for Chelsea's long term prospects of success and it's more sustainable (and a better use of Chelsea's enormous resources) to only spend big on the players the club has spent a long time identifying and making sure they fit in with the more positive approach Lampard is trying to instill at Chelsea. I just hope they give him a fair shake, considering how he's still pretty new to management - especially at this level. I fear one bad transfer window from Lampard and the Chelsea board will go back to their instinct of sacking the manager.

  20. Cocos Islands. Remote. Scarcely touched by humanity (in comparison) and utterly beautiful. One of the best places I’ve ever been. I’m also a snorkel convert. Snorkelling with reef sharks? Tick.
