Thinking of reviving the game for the new season. Anyone interested? Tagging those who participated last time, everyone else is obviously welcome to express interest, too @Rick @Faithcore @Stan @Viva la FCB @Toinho @Tommy @londonerlilie @Rucksackfranzose @Michael @Coma @Pyfish1 point

I think there is definitely an element of wanting somebody to blame, but I also cannot believe there aren't managers out there who can get more from this. I think our squad is very imbalanced, something which he has contributed towards. This Trent in midfield business is starting to remind me of Hodgson doing the same with Rooney in 2016 just as an excuse to have him on the pitch. We make too big a fuss in this country of who is left out rather than about having a balanced team, and Southgate's fallen right into it. End this silly experiment now and start playing some round pegs in round holes. Another issue I think we have is Pep tax. It's not just him but arguably Arteta too. I think so many of these players look out of their comfort zones playing for England. Beneficiaries of a system built to maximise their abilities in a very particular style. Look at Rice earlier - looked an absolute fish out of water a lot of that game because he hasn't got the same runs and options around him that he has at Arsenal. In England the top teams have become massively about players fitting a system while individual flair is dampened somewhat, and I think this is why a lot of them look a bit off when playing for England. Could be talking total rubbish here but just a theory. This just isn't a team winning the tournament. I know we've often started fairly slow under him, but this isn't slow - we look frankly on a par with Slovenia at best. This group has been a massive much of a muchness. Three draws from the four games and a very tight unconvincing 1-0 win for England being the difference. I don't think he can play the percentages through this time. I think the heavy criticism he's had from the pundits is quite telling. I think we all deep down know we're doing nothing this time around. That reaction in the studio post match today I've not seen over England since probably Iceland in 2016 - I think a lot of it is it hitting people that were convinced we'd win it that we aren't going to. This just feels different. Rubbish in the build up. Rubbish in the tournament. You go away after not watching for a while and you think England's talent can carry us, but we offer so little. I think it's nowhere near a given we beat Slovenia either.1 point

I did not have the intention of fishing. I just thought England was incredibly lucky to get a result against Serbia. Everyone I know said judging by the 2nd half, Serbia would have deserved a draw. Just checked the stats. Serbia did have even more shots on goal. You made me believe I was talking shit for a moment.1 point

The scoreline doesn't reflect the gulf in the performances from the 2 sides. Spain were so much better than Italy. Main criticism will be that they didn't score more. Yamal & Williams were a joy to watch.1 point

He's right, there's no Leeds grit in that team. England r fucked.1 point

As much as I want to defend Gareth and not get carried away after one abject performance, he does make it hard when he makes comments like this. We have a lot of talent in this squad and he's hung up over The Yorkshire Pudding.1 point

I'll play whatever, although it does seem that some here don't want me to defend my Comunio title and dominate once again.1 point

He's just fishing, still hurt from the last Euros tournament, it's incredibly sad to see.1 point

I think he would be honest yes. There are many managers who ask their teams to defend after they take the lead, it's not something shameful, it's just tactics.1 point

Rice has made several noticeable mistakes as well today.1 point

Turns out he was lying, and he's a nonce not just someone done for assault! https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/13930528.jason-oldacre-45-repeatedly-molested-girl-7-swindon-court-hears/1 point

Comunio always seemed clunky to me but I figured it out after trial and error. Kickbase was nice but since it was only an app it excluded some folks (Rucksack/Michael). I'd be up for trying the official game or going back to Comunio.1 point

Yeah basically what @Michael said is spot on. I would also add that in the last few years there has been a big shuffle of players with the new coach that brought a lot of young and technical players and wanna switch from the 'defensive' mindset that the national team had for like 2 decades. We missed not being in the competition because of a tough group and like 2 bad results that costed us which could have been easily avoided. Also because the coach was very stubborn and didn't picked for a couple of games a few of our best players just to show some 'discipline'. I think there are key positions that the team lacks good players (especially in center midfield), we are very good with attacking wide players if they are getting picked like Konstantelias who has been fantastic for the past 2 years and is very young, probably our most talented and biggest threat. I do think in 2026 we will be fine as long as we won't suddenly change coaches and staff in the last second.1 point

They didn't do much compared to others. No goals, no assists. Man of the match gets 3 extra points - presumably that was Gundogan?1 point

Had a great time in Cala Milor last month. I think this was recommended to me on here by @Tommy a year or 2 ago. Great place anyway and thoroughly enjoyed it, would happily go back there. Our hotel was lovely - Marins beach club, and it was 2 minute walk from the beach. Next up is going to be Slovakia again in August and then i'm thinking Gran Canaria in October. Neither are booked yet.1 point

I know your questions was to Fusion, but just to help answer, the current Greece national team are relatively decent. It wasn't that long ago that the Greece national team was losing to teams like Estonia, Belarus, Luxembourg and the Faroe Islands. In their attempt to qualify for Euro 2016, Greece infamously lost both home and away to the Faroe Islands in their qualifying group, something that was a new low for them. The Greece national team today is much improved. The main reason they didn't qualify for these Euros is because they were drawn in a tough qualifying group alongside both France and the Netherlands. Obviously France and the Netherlands finished in the top 2 positions in the group and qualified for the Euros. Greece however, still managed to draw with France on home soil in Athens(Although the French had already qualified at that point) and Greece also beat the Republic of Ireland both home and away. Needless to say, they also thrashed the other team in the group Gibraltar both home and away. This meant that Greece finished 3rd in their group and faced a play-off match against Georgia. However, they could only draw 0-0 with Georgia in Tbilisi and they then lost on penalties to them and got knocked out. Greece have some decent players like Douvikas, Tzolis, Pavlidis, Tsimikas, Giannoulis, Mavropanos and Vlachodimos. So hopefully they'll have better luck in their quest to qualify for the next major international tournament, namely the next World Cup.1 point

Very happy for him. It looks like Nagelsmann finally uses him right, like Pep did at Man City. Previous national coaches always played him in weaker positions.1 point

Interesting to think that Pepe, who's still playing for Portugal, was a 25 year old defensive stalwart for the Portuguese national team, when Yamal was born.0 points
