Machado Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 The most interesting aspect of the tweet is that it's posted by the official NUFC account. Is this a true reflection of how the relationship between Pardew and NUFC developed, or is it just a dig by the guy managing social media? Quote

I'm guessing it's just the team who interview players for the website and run the social media accounts. Quote

Kyletoonfan Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Really hard game on Saturday obviously anything at Chelsea is a bonus. But we cannot think like that we have to try our hardest to get a result we are to near the bottom 3 for any toon fans liking. No doubt we will be defensive and hope to score on the counter or a set play it's horrible to watch but I don't blame Rafa. We have such limited options going forward. Hopefully we will frustrate Chelsea an early goal for them would be a nightmare they only won at our place due to a contentious penalty and an own goal. Southampton went their and drew 0-0 It can be done but it's a tall order of course. Quote
Honey Honey Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Two big revelations this week. Firstly it has been revealed in court that years ago the Mike Ashley blew the chance to sell the club to the now owners of Man City by making insulting remarks about Islam, the Dubai royal family and Kevin Keegan. The Times have revealed today that Dennis Wise is working as an advisor for Mike Ashley. He has not only met club hierarchy to offer advice but he has also been asking his contacts to make pro-Ashley statements in the media. Quote

Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted April 20, 2019 Subscriber Posted April 20, 2019 Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez wants ONE thing to STAY - Michael Owen reveals what he's heard NEWCASTLE beat Southampton 3-1 on Saturday to all but secure their Premier League status for next season but there remain doubts over whether Rafa Benitez will still be in charge by then. On what should be a positive night for Newcastle supporters, former Toon striker Michael Owen has offered a worrying insight into Benitez’s future at the club. Owen, who joined Newcastle for a then record-fee from Real Madrid in 2005, reckons that Benitez has an issue with how transfers are organised. The ex-England forward thinks the Spaniard is keen for more control, but he won’t be given it by owner Mike Ashley. “I don’t think it’s necessarily about how much he gets,” Owen said on BT Sport when asked if the size of Newcastle’s transfer budget could be a hurdle in Benitez signing a new deal. “I think it is more a case of the power that he has and the overall control of the transfer, that is what I am led to believe.” The former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager is out of contract at the end of the season, and he could leave despite fan pleas for him to sign a new deal. The control over transfers is proving to be the main stumbling block for the Champions League winning boss, and Owen can’t see it being resolved. He continued: “That is not normally what happens as clubs any more, that’s what used to happen, but it’s not what happens anymore. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1116862/Newcastle-Rafa-Benitez-future-Michael-Owen-Southampton-Mike-Ashley Quote
Honey Honey Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 He clearly wants to stay and we aren't far off that group above. We need to invest to get into it but he needs to use his contract situation as leverage to get that. He won't get it out of any sort of hierarchy desire to compete in the top 10. Since January only Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal have picked up more points than us so Mike Ashley will probably say we don't need any more and we can have Rondon permanent and that's it, sell to buy. United chiefs refused to expand on any details in the report but managing director Lee Charnley is well aware of the situation. Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted June 14, 2019 Subscriber Posted June 14, 2019 Newcastle United transfer news: Bin Zayed Group takeover doubts but Jose Mourinho links remain; shift in Rafa Benitez future odds plus Magpies miss out on £22m Brazilian The Bin Zayed Group takeover of Newcastle United, led by Sheikh Khaled, has reportedly been greeted with "scepticism" in the financial heart of the City of London. But that has not stopped the links to Jose Mourinho, with the Portuguese still keen on managing the Magpies, if Sheikh Khaled overthrows Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley. According to Sunday Times and Daily Record writer Duncan Castles, speaking on The Transfer Window podcast believes that the Abu Dhabi takeover is a "long shot" at St James's Park - but he thinks the Mourinho links are very real. "I can tell you that Jose Mourinho is interested to find out whether there is a possibility of Newcastle United being bought by a wealthy owner,” he said. “If it was, he would be interested in finding out whether that is an opportunity for him to manage again. “I think it’s a long shot, I think for the reasons we explained when we talked about that bid that’s been presented from a distant, relatively distant member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, that we had scepticism in the city of London as to whether a deal was actually in place.” Representatives of the Bin Zayed Group have released two separate statements on a potential takeover of United - with little to no communication coming from the club or the Premier League. Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez's contract has just 17 days to run and odds have tumbled on him becoming the new manager of former club Chelsea. Benitez was as high as 33/1 just a few days ago with some bookmakers but is now as short as 3/1 with Sky Bet, and is the second favourite behind Frank Lampard. Benitez would not be a popular choice with the fans but still has a very good relationship with owner Roman Abramovich and would definitely be a safe choice for the role, especially with the Blues set to be under a transfer embargo. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-transfer-news-bin-zayed-group-takeover-doubts-but-jose-mourinho-links-remain-shift-in-rafa-benitez-future-odds-plus-magpies-miss-out-on-22m-brazilian-1-9821603 Quote

Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted June 18, 2019 Subscriber Posted June 18, 2019 Rafael Benitez: Newcastle manager offered £12m by Chinese club Dalian Yifang Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has received a £12m-a-year offer to take over as manager at Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang. Benitez, 59, is out of contract at the end of June but has been offered a new deal by Newcastle owner Mike Ashley. So far he has been unable to agree a deal and it is becoming increasingly likely Benitez will leave St James' Park after just over three seasons. The Spaniard is also linked with a move to succeed Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. Benitez remains one of the favourites to replace Sarri but Frank Lampard is the overwhelming favourite for the job. Benitez had an uneasy relationship with the Chelsea fans when he was in interim charge of the club during the 2012-13 season. There is a chance Benitez may decide not to go to China and wait for another offer - from Newcastle or elsewhere. However, the lure of China may be too much given the vast sums on offer. Dalian have won only three of their 13 league games so far this season under South Korean coach Choi Kang-hee. Newcastle were relegated after Benitez arrived at the club in March 2016 but the former Liverpool boss guided them to promotion as Championship winners the following season. The Magpies have finished 10th and 13th in the Premier League in subsequent seasons. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48672945 Quote
