Admits it's been tricky but is looking forward to next season with us... I agree with you on the bold bit though. You can and should be targeting better players. What's your quota like for homegrown players for European football? Not that I think you'll struggle with that but if you are, maybe Gray will be bought for that purpose. Just speculation from me on that point. I'd love to see him flourish here and get a chance to realise his potential with us in the Premier League. We only bought him for £4m as well so a bargain in today's market. Even if he does move to Liverpool, I can see him having same frustrations as he does now cos he probably won't get much game time there. European football can be a big magnet though. I'm getting a bit fed up with his blubbering on social media. He's shown glimpses of quality but not a lot more than that. Makes me laugh how much people pine for him to come in for Mahrez yet there's no way he's a better player. If people think Gray is going to come in and turn in form anything like Mahrez at his best I think they're in for a shock, and that's as someone who sees a lot of good in Gray. He's a promising player but far from the finished article. Chilwell's in a very similar predicament and I'm yet to hear any blubbering from him.
LFCMadLad Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Liverpool closing in on VVD and Mohammad Salah according to today's rags.

SirBalon Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 The actual FFC (Chilean Football Federation) have officially announced the national team's selection for the upcoming Confederations Cup this summer and it seems they have either made a grave mistake or they know something that hasn't actually been made public yet. Look at Alexis Sánchez and the club assigned to him.
Administrator Stan Posted May 25, 2017 Administrator Posted May 25, 2017 bit brave only going with 13 players too.

SirBalon Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Although Claudio Bravo being assigned to Man City looks strange because I'd expect he'll definitely be out of the door there. Obviously hasn't sorted his future out yet.

Dave Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Newcastle would be best for his development. Get him used to playing regularly at a big stadium with a passionate fan base.

Cicero Posted May 25, 2017 Author Posted May 25, 2017 I'd agree with that if he were to be playing every game. Best for his development.
Dave Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Must say given the additional fixtures next season I am rather surprised that Antonio Conte isn't looking at how Tammy Abraham, Lewis Baker etc. have done on loan and considering to keep them around, but if Chelsea are looking to sell some of there younger players and not loan them out I hope we sort out our new Manager quickly and get involved. Whilst Solanke and Loftus-Cheek have shot themselves in the foot over wage demands at Chelsea I always imagined Allardyce would consider them as squad players to replace some of the backup players leaving his summer.
Toony Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Is Abraham good enough to play regular first-team football in the Premier League though? I thought he was very good at Bristol City but it's a huge step up. I think he'll go to Brighton anyway, they had a couple of Chelsea boys on loan last season.

Both Abraham and Baker need to prove themselves in the Premier League first I'd imagine, I however would be all for having these two be squad players. Loftus-Cheek and Aina will definitely be out on loan. Only player i can see us selling rather than loaning out is Solanke.

Look at Alli, or Kane - straight into first team action from lower league football. Kane had a couple of games at Norwich I think but that's it.

I'd personally like them as squad players, but it all depends on Conte. He did a great job getting Chalobah involved so maybe he might do the same with Baker and Abraham.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted May 25, 2017 Subscriber Posted May 25, 2017 Mahrez has been linked with Monaco. If he's going to be sold (which I expect) then I'd take that.

I'm well and truly converted by our Poch. If they're good enough and talented, keep them at the club, even if they're not playing. What Poch can teach them whilst training with the first team squad is better than some poxy loans.
Cicero Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 Manchester City all but finalised the signing of Monaco winger Bernardo Silva. Rumors going that he is having the medical today. Sterling benched? Also being reported by BILD that Bayern have dropped out of signing Sanchez?
HK85 Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 We're not signing Enner Valencia, he's going back to West Ham.
