Bluewolf Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Not bad... would like to see him or Idris Elba have a shot at it..
Rick Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 This is good. He needs to be a proper rough round the edges version of Bond. We sort of got that a bit with Craig, but he still had the upper class accent and demeanor most the time.

I feel like Hardy will bring a bit of dry wit and humour to the role which Bond is also famed for in the early days. A bit of sarcastic nature about him.

Danny Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Out of the most well known actors you can’t argue with one of Idris Elba or Tom Hardy, would be a good decision
Eco Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I love Bond films, and would love to see both Idris and Tom be Bond at one point in their careers...I think both would be great for the franchise.
Harry Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I loved the idea of Idris but I think he'll be too old by the time the next movie comes around, let alone a second or third. Craig was 38 when his first movie premiered. Elba would be 51. Hardy would be 46.

Connery was always my favorite, but I think he's also my Dad's favorite which would explain why we always watched his movies growing up. Connery was also in my Dad's all time favorite movie in 'The Man Who Would be King'.

He'll watch any Bond though. When ITV do the Bond season which is usually twice a year sometimes he's glued to the TV I was never really a fan of Timothy Dalton or George Lazenby. Pierce Brosnan is kind of in-between.

My top 3 Bond films are all with Connery ( Gold Finger, From Russia with Love, Dr. No) Craig has some good ones, and is probably ahead of Moore for me, but when I imagine James Bond in my head, it's always the Connery Bond.

Used to be Connery and Moore, but then I rewatched most of the movies recently, and I'm really, really unsure. Connery is iconic, his early portrayals are class, but then the last ones are a bit hit & miss. Moore was class, but at some points, his portrayal almost felt like a parody. If I'm honest, the Bond that I enjoyed the most was actually Pierce Brosnan, even if it's an unpopular opinion. I also liked Dalton, I think he was the most realistic Bond ever. Lazenby was the only one I didn't like, and Craig is fine, but I don't like his Bond.

If you watch all of the old Bonds vs the New Bonds, they certainly take a similar evolution as the Batman's do, where they used to be funny, fun, and a little bit of a parody bit, but recent adaptations are more real, more dark, and a lot more serious overall. Now, the Bond films are evolve, IMO, nearly as much as the Batman films do, but I do notice a same trajectory, making it really difficult to honestly assess the older films to the newer ones.

I thought Dalton's Bond was already pretty dark and gritty, which was a welcome change after Moore's last movies. Then Brosnan came along with his more humorous interpretation again, and then we went all dark with Craig. So I wouldn't mind another cheesier, more light-hearted portrayal next.

I don't think I've ever obsessed over a game as much as I did golden eye. Just superb ahead of its time game. I played that game in awe. Particularly the 4 player multiplayer

I have only got obsessed with 4 games... Goldeneye, Halo, and Fifa 09 Edit - there was certainly a 4th, and that was Final Fantasy VII

But I wouldn't say I was massive on Bond films anyway. They are always worth the watch but I wouldn't say I get massively excited by them coming out.

Brosnan has been my favourite Bond, i can't work out though if it was his portrayal of the character or just the films overall as to why i prefer him. I may actually start re watching the Bond Films. Current next odds on the next Bond anyway: Tom Hardy would be fucking awesome.
