Well of course they're not as good as Virgil or Gomez... because they are youngsters that need time to develop.

I think you are going to be a bit disappointed if you are expecting us to sign a player of that standard.

How are players supposed to develop if they aren't given a chance?

Thats all im saying mate... give them a chance!

It's all very well saying give them a chance and give them time to develop, but do they have to develop in competitive matches while we lose our grasp on the league, or can it be done on loan or in league cup games like normal? It doesn't take a genius to see that Rhys Williams clearly isn't ready. Nat Phillips is a bit better defensively, but he's slow and uncomfortable on the ball so doesn't suit our high line or possession play. Meanwhile we're posting disappointing results in the league. Six points dropped to teams in the bottom 4 in the last month. Are we trying to win, or do we want to be Arsenal where no one gets their feelings hurt?

It's worth noting that we won something like 14 games last season by a single goal, so while we absolutely pissed the league, it wasn't quite the walkover it looks on paper. Losing all 4 of our centre backs and our #6 from last season is obviously going to have a big impact on our title challenge this year. That's without talking about how a good and fast back 3 (DM + 2 CBs) enables our entire system by allowing us to send 7 players forward, and how VVD's passing ability helps us unlock teams. If you're wondering how teams like West Brom and Newcastle are able to keep us in front of them so easily, by the way, start there.

Saw an article saying that Liverpool are at the end of Klopp's cycle now, he has overplayed his players and they won't last the pace. I think the past two results show how vulnerable they are. No way they are favourites for this league.

I haven't read the article, but that whole narrative is complete nonsense. We were about 12th in distance covered last season
