Honey Honey
This has come back up from a different paper now. Independent this time. Though not that he will walk, but rather that he is pissed. Stinginess holding us back in the market. We had an £8m bid for Jacob Murphy turned down but don't look too keen on bothering to offer more. LFCMadLad
What is the point in hiring a manager as prestigious as Rafa if you're just going to fuck him over in the transfer market? He will walk if he thinks he's not being backed sufficiently, no doubt about it.
Administrator Stan Posted July 12, 2017 Administrator Share Posted July 12, 2017 how can you be frustrated at Newcastle? The girls there put out more than anywhere else in the UK.
Toony
The worrying thing is that the person who reported it is the man he wrote his book with so it's likely to be true. If we haven't got anyone in by the end of next week I think he'll be thinking twice about staying.
HK85
They might as well just give him a column if he's going to go crying to the press every other week.
Honey Honey
If so then there has to be a reason behind it getting out, Rafa wanting to put pressure on the club probably.
The Artful Dodger
Stinks of Rafa wanting an easy way out, he's done the easy bit albeit marginally and now there's a bit of a test in establishing Newcastle as an upper mid table side. Make out transfers aren't what he wants and leave avoids any embarrassment.

I rate Benitez higher than some but he's got an undeserved reputation as some kind of hardballer who only leaves because of bad owners; he left Liverpool because he took a top class team down the spiral. Look at the way he treated Alonso.

The Artful Dodger
More than you the wool Liverpool fan who never goes the game. Benitez's exit was well played by him but ultimately he took a top class team down the drain, the player loathed him. Look at the way he treated Alonso. Look at our net spend the season Alonso left and why he came out against the owners that had us in financial dire straights and face to face with administration. He was hamstrung in his final season at Liverpool. Blaming him for going to the press with how shite the situation was at Liverpool is foolish - had he not done that, it's likely Gillet and Hicks would've remained owners for much longer and we'd probably have been in administration with Hodgson as manager, without getting sacked as he rightfully was. Why not lay the foundations of his excuse early, in the event he bottles it completely (not out of the question, seeing as this season will actually be a challenge)?
