How much credibility does the CL have? :coffee:  the best team hardly ever wins it, teams from mid table have won it :4_joy:  ..just a european FA Cup, the winner wont be the best team in Europe

UEFA have no credibility to be fair. You’ve been openly corrupt for years now and they still won’t punish you

Man City's biggest victory in Europe is a court case.

Why are you showing me AC Milan from the 1920s?

Rumours of an imminent exit for De Jong three years after his arrival in Spain have been rife in recent weeks. Most reports have touted the ex-Ajax star with a switch to Manchester United, though it now appears he could be on his way to local rivals City - to finally link up with Guardiola.

United's inability to offer the Netherlands international Champions League football looks set to be a huge sticking point which will allow City to swoop in and hijack the deal. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo report how Bernardo Silva could even be used as a makeweight in the potential deal.

Guardiola's midfield is already going to be one man lighter once Fernandinho calls time on his City stay in the summer and De Jong does have the ability to dictate the pace of games from a deeper position much like the Brazilian veteran

Now, according to reports out of Spain, Guardiola has ‘personally’ set his sights on the Dutchman and ‘wants’ him for the 2022/2023 season.

As well as this, it is believed that de Jong ‘would not look down’ on City’s boss and is now open to joining.

With Jorginho rumored to leave I'm surprised we are not all over this. De Jong apparently doesn't want to go to United.

Like for like player in role, although De Jong a massive upgrade.

Let's face it, you only leave Barca for united for a huge pay rise

He lacks consistency but always plays well when the team are on it, especially when Pedri plays. He also had an excellent understanding with Messi the season before last, so it's about getting the team playing as individual performances are affected by how a team plays. Personally, I'd rather see him stay( he also doesn't want to leave), but if selling him means having the finances to bring someone in like Lewandowski, find a Dembele replacement and a defender, then it might be for the best.

Busquets might be old now be is still a top player when surrounded by younger talent. Pedri, Busquets and Gavi in midfield is a proper Barça midfield, but de Jong staying would be better if it's possible to keep him and strengthen.

If Gavi leaves, that will be the bigger blow though. He's 17 and fully grown adults at international level are already taking him very seriously and getting tucked into him, yet he still often gets the better of them. Pedri and Gavi have it all to be the best in the world at what they do. They are already top class as teenagers.

On another note, I'm 100% positive that de Jong won't succeed at United. They kill talent or fun. Get yourself to a club that suits your talents lad. If you go to United, you'll still be there in 6 years, even though it's clear after one season that you aren't the right fit. It happens to so many players.

This is the most protracted of protracted deals.   Either Barce are 1) wanting to do deals without teams knowing they have a nice wad of Man U money or 2) waiting until the new financial year end turns over in a day.
