MUFC Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Testing peoples memory with this question I guess. Mine was around 2004 a DVD from Ebay.
nudge Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Actually, yes. I Found No Peace by Webb Miller, bought it from the Book Depository at around 2008, I think. Edit: just checked it, it was in 2011.
nudge Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 No wait, that's wrong. I ordered several cameras and lenses years prior to that. Which one was the first, I couldn't possibly know. Some time between 2004-2008 though.
Administrator Stan Posted August 23, 2022 Administrator Posted August 23, 2022 I'm guessing a song off iTunes. Before that it was all the illegal songs off Limewire before the viruses took over

Bluewolf Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 The first one!!! I can't even remember the last one...
Toinho Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Absolutely no idea. You’re an absolute maniac remembering that from 2004.

Moderator Tommy Posted August 24, 2022 Moderator Posted August 24, 2022 I'm not sure if it was really the first. But it was one of the first. A DVD.
Inverted Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 A Runescape premium subscription. I remember nervously trying to explain to my mum why I needed her card for a £5 payment, and assuring her that it was totally safe online.

nudge Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Never actually used Limewire. It was all about FTP servers at first, and then Napster, DC++ and eMule. Good times.

Subscriber Coma+ Posted August 24, 2022 Subscriber Posted August 24, 2022 My first purchase was probably a book. I was really into pulp fantasy and many of the books I was trying to find were out of print. There was a used bookstore called The Dragon's Trove that I ordered from regularly. I remember having to write out a check and mail it to them and then they would mail my books to me. Good times.

Have never used Ares, actually had to google it as I haven't even heard of it BitTorrent, yes sure, but only occasionally. I always prefered using file hosting services instead of P2P, especially back in the days when RapidShare and Megaupload were at their best before all the crackdowns later on.
Toinho Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Oh god Limewire and Ares. Takes me back.... found some gems on there. Wonder how those ladies are doing now...
