Outthought, outfought and outplayed. Comprehensive.

The difference here is one team is well drilled, well coached and has quality in every position and Spurs have none of that. Mason’s job interview is over.

Obviously the header they had in the first half and the header Richarlison had are big chances they should have scored, but everything else they’ve had have just been fairly easy saves or blocks from us, regardless of how good they look for Spurs. It’s all well and good having those chances but there’s not really been an element of luck in terms of them not scoring, just great defending from us and their inability to break us down over 90 minutes by consistently creating clear cut, should have scored efforts on goal.

Spurs need someone like Thomas Frank to come in and bring solidity and structure back,  they also have similar formation setups so it works.  I am not sure Frank will consider the move as with Potter the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

We have bummed Man Utd and Liverpool this season, only team to beat City at the Etihad, drawn with Arsenal, beaten and drawn with both Spurs and Chelsea, secured a top 10 finish and still within a chance of European football. Done it all on what is a bottom 3 budget. How on earth Thomas Frank hasn't been nominated as one of the managers of the season is baffling.

Is beating us before April 9th impressive though. We were pretty poor until Arsenal woke us up.

It's quite something seeing two of the "big" clubs end up in such a bad death spiral in one season. Spurs and Chelsea both look like they're half a dozen transfer windows away from even challenging for top four again. Admittedly, getting the right manager in can see these things change quickly but both clubs just look absolutely determined to make the wrong decision at every turn.

You’ve not felt a dicking like that in a while let’s be honest, we were superb

Madrid?

We were abysmal for a lot of the season tbh. The teams that gave us points early on were very very bad.

If you're comparing us to Madrid then you're sort of proving my point lol

Have they done the shortlist for manager of the season yet?

Yeah; Guardiola, Arteta, Howe, De Zerbi, Emery and Silva selected. Frank easily done a better job than Silva and Emery.

Yeah, you can make a decent argument for each of them in fairness, but to not list Frank amongst that list is ridiculous really, especially when Silva is on that list.

After a decent start, hard to see how the last 15 minutes could have fucked us any harder really. Patterson, the last fit full back at the club goes off injured. Wolves score on the break after a sloppy pass from Doucoure and Gueye and Onana both failing to deck Traore and take the yellow card. Then Calvert-Lewin goes down head in hands and comes off injured. With Keane at right back, McNeil at left back, Garner right midfield and Gray up front, that's no less than 4 outfield players out of position.

Very difficult to come back in this one now so it's over to other clubs hat in hand again to do us more favours.

I think that’s really the game that sticks out to me this season of us being incredibly soundly beaten this season.

Other than that most of our losses, especially before the second time we faced Arsenal this season, were very predictable. The sides that gave us 3 points before that period were genuinely rubbish or unlucky.

I think this Villa side are the best side we’ve played since we woke up after killing our season by being shit for 3/4ths of it.
