The 35-year-old's contract expires at the end of next month but Real Madrid are hoping to convince the forward to stay another year. The report adds that Al Hilal are also trying to sign Lionel Messi this summer, while Real are hoping Benzema stays so the club can go big on a striker in 2024. They're going to offer more money than the MLS could ever have dreamed of offering to any single player, so it's probably going to go beyond the MLS in terms of being the premier "before I retire, I better make some more fucking cash" league. If Messi is smart, he'll do the same thing and then then retire to play football at the place of his choice. It will become the retirement league for superstars to be fair and I don't think the Saudis will be that bothered as I think they are just happy to get them in their league.
