The Palace Fan Posted Thursday at 13:27 Share Posted Thursday at 13:27 It should be a close game this. Italy are well organised but haven't kept a clean sheet and not of the midfielders or attackers have had a stand put tournament. Switzerland on the other hand lack the star power on paper but are well organised and have been playing above perceived ability levels. If there's an 'upset' it's probably here. 6666 Posted Thursday at 19:18 Share Posted Thursday at 19:18 Not much in it between both teams in my opinion. Hoping for another Xhaka masterclass.

Devil Posted Thursday at 20:20 Share Posted Thursday at 20:20 (edited) Switzerland should go into this confident but just like against Croatia, you just can't bet against the Italians. They seem to pull it out of the bag so often. If you gave me a choice between the two for England, it would be Switzerland every time. We need to up our game massively but I'd still have serious doubts if we played Italy. Fingers crossed Switzerland win. Beelzebub Posted Friday at 07:11 Share Posted Friday at 07:11 This game is more likely to go into extra time than England Slovakia

Administrator Stan Posted Saturday at 16:29 Author Administrator Share Posted Saturday at 16:29 There's something quite disjointed about this Italy side. Something not clicking fully.
Administrator Stan Posted Saturday at 16:39 Author Administrator Share Posted Saturday at 16:39 Deserved lead by Switzerland. Midfielders dominating and one of the late runs from Freuler pays off. Totally untracked.

Redcanuck Posted Saturday at 17:09 Share Posted Saturday at 17:09 Did they change the commentators. The first half I had Warren Barton and some woman who never shut up. Now it's back to normal ones.

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted Saturday at 17:26 Subscriber Share Posted Saturday at 17:26 Probably the most one sided game I've watched in the tournament apart from Germany vs Scotland.
Michael Posted Saturday at 17:35 Share Posted Saturday at 17:35 Scamacca hits the post for Italy! That's been their best chance of the match!

Michael Posted Saturday at 17:37 Share Posted Saturday at 17:37 There's only 15 minutes left of normal time left and Italy are 2 nil down. I'd expect a bit more attacking urgency right now.
Michael Posted Saturday at 17:54 Share Posted Saturday at 17:54 (edited) Switzerland make the quarter-finals and Italy are knocked out! It was a well deserved win for Switzerland and they will be a tough match for any side they meet at these Euros. The Palace Fan Posted Saturday at 20:33 Share Posted Saturday at 20:33 Italy looked like a Championship team but credit to Switzerland they looked very impressive. We would have to improve significantly to get past them if they play like that again.
6666 Posted Saturday at 20:38 Share Posted Saturday at 20:38 Italy never looked dangerous. Swiss were easily the better side. And Vargas finally doing something in a tournament.
Inverted
Unbelievable how poor Italy looked. They don't have the talent of previous sides, but they have a team with at least decent players in every position, mostly pretty good players, and even one or two great players. It is hard to understand how they can just be thrown about like that and offer almost no competition.
