Going all cliche here, on paper at least, it looks like a decent list of teams taking part. Reality is that it’ll probably be the status quo of disparity between the super rich and the not-so super rich but still rich and then the rest, usually your some of Pot 3 and 4 sides.

How did Lokomotiv get into Pot 1?

Champions of Russia. Russia is one of the 6 highest-ranked nations so they get in to Pot 1 (alongside Spain, England, Germany, Italy, France).

My word, I didn't realize Russia had moved up so high. I'm rather shocked TBH.

Liverpool have reached a Europa League Final and a Champions League Final in the last five years and are still in the third pot?!

How bad were their other seasons?

Non -existent in 13/14 and 16/17. Out in the CL groups and then last 32 of the Europa in 14/15

Just noticed how there’s a hell of a gap in Europe without any Champions League representatives. There’s only a couple of Eastern European representatives in the Pots.

some might argue that's how it should be - likelihood being you might get better entertainment/competitive matches as opposed to having minnows from the likes of Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Belarus etc...

Didn't a Cypriot team crush some pussy a couple years back?

Edit. Apoel in 2012. Qualifying in a group of Zenit, Porto and Shakhtar. Beating Zenit and Porto, topping the group, beating lyon in the round of 16 on penalties before losing to real.

xD interesting group for Liverpool but Mourinho taking this United side to the Nou Camp would be a sight.
