Chile will win it. It's my lock of the week.

On another forum I am "el salado". I'll just predict against us and it makes your prediction irrelevant (not that it was relevant to begin with)

Uruguay's main issue as far as I'm concerned is the same one Atlético Madrid under Diego Simeone suffer from which is that they are reticent to want to take the bull by the horns in games and attack. It's all about an analytical speculative outlook from the start and relying on the fact that they're so so comfortable defending like other famed teams are keeping possession of the ball. It's the same psychosis although beit a completely different visual experience and outlook on how to get results. Uruguay have talented midfielders but they choose to play that way because it's their way and that's all there is to it. They'll never change and neither should they because when you consider the population of that country by comparison to other competitive football nations, they're a bloody miracle.

They have a good midfield but not as good as Aranguiz and Vidal. Today we only controlled parts of it because Uruguay's midfielders, while good, aren't world class. Vidal is that, and Aranguiz is very good.

Luckily their defence is OK at best, so I think Paolo Guerrero will have an easier time against them than Godin and Gimenez, who are just a complete wall.

Chile are good but not as good as Uruguay.

Argentina have a few positives to look at now:- they are the only team to have gotten the job done over 90 mins in the last round and the only side to have scored.

It'd be great to see Perú make the final also. Mainly because it would be shit to see Chile win it for a third time in a row. It would be something quite historic though and an incredible achievement from the Chilenos.

This is now Brazil's to lose after Uruguay got knocked-out. Brazil are a much more balanced side than Argentina and will surely make the final. I just can't see either of Chile or Perú defeating Brazil although stranger things have happened.

Getting to the final would be a dream, and a step up from the already achieved semi-finals of 2011 and 2015. I do agree with SirBalon though that if Brazil gets there, then it's theirs to lose. We are one of the few teams to have won in Brazil but that was with a legendary team. I just can't see us get the job done if it's Brazil in the final. As far as I'm aware though, a final appearance is an achievement.

I am hoping Argentina win on Tuesday. Even if it means Chile have a shot at winning a third Copa in a row should they beat us. I'd much prefer playing Argentina in the final against the team that's lost 4 times at home in their history.

Brazil vs Peru in the final and Peru to win it

Ha, I hope it's us in the final, but if we do take on Brazil we'll lose again. They are quite simply another beast in their own home that can only be matched by other world class teams without shithousing.

That's why you will win then we will look back at all your comments about Peru shithousibg and Brazil being a beast like with Croatia at the World Cup

I love these group of players. They have a proper winners mentality. So resilient and united. Never have I seen such a mature Peruvian side in my life.

Bring on Chile.

I think if we play Brazil in the final it will be much closer than the group game.

We'll still lose but Gareca will have learned that Brazil needs to be taken on with caution when you play them in their home. However, one step at a time. Chile is next and that game can go either way.

Peru fans have the biggest pseudo pride of any nation. I certainly wouldnt be so positive in a semifinal against a much better team like Chile if it was mexico and they had struggle in a the group stage like peru. Reminds me of Trump talking about how great he has been xD

Chile 3-1 lucky to be in it this far Peru

Brazil 2-1 Argentina

I don't know how dreaming to get to the final is pseudo pride. Just for the record we just beat Uruguay, a team who is also better than us and were better over the 90 minutes. Chile are good but nowhere near as good as the Uruguayans.

We could win or lose but that won't change that you are spouting nonsense again.

I am reading comments from Uruguayan forums at the moment, and they are knocking Suarez. Not so much for missing his penalty but for the reason that he isn't half the player he used to be.

I actually agree. He looks half decent for Uruguay because he has Cavani at his side and for Barcelona because of all their world class midfielders and attackers. When he's played up top for Uruguay without another world class forward, he has looked poor. The game against France instantly comes to mind.

I am not saying he is finished, but rather he is not the best striker in the world anymore. He used to be incredible no matter with who you place him up top with, scoring from all angles and being able to do whatever he wanted with the ball at his feet.

He is still good, he had a few good moments against us and against Japan, but today the best Uruguayan player is Edinson Cavani.

So apparently Richarlison picked up mumps last week(!?) so looks like he'll unfortunately miss out on the rest of the tournament.

Don't think he would have played much either way, but that's unfortunate for him.

You can't say we were "lucky" to get out of our group thanks to "best third BS". It's not a valid argument. It's like saying that Venezuela were lucky to get out of their group because 2nd place doesn't qualify you in other tournaments. This has been the rule in the Copa America for a long time. If it is within the rules, it counts. THAT is a fact, what you are stating otherwise is an opinion.

We have had an OK tournament. We were a lot better in 2015 where our football got us to the semi's. This time, our resiliency and defence has kept us alive. Is that down to luck? Maybe but the facts are we are in semi finals and I can dream about beating Chile to get to the final, regardless of what you say.

If we were losers, we wouldn't have gotten this far, and we wouldn't have gotten to the World Cup. We might not have world class players, we might not have players at top clubs, but we have unity and that sometimes is enough to make a team.

I can't wait to hear your excuses if we do get to the final.

Best third out of three is an oxymoron. SECOND WORST TEAM of the group is more appropriate and fits peru. Yall should be celebrating that luck has gotten yall this far. The superior Chilean squad will expose the frauds peruvians

Ok, we were the SECOND WORST TEAM of the group, and we have still made it further than the second best team in the group.

In his prime, king Vidal would easily be worth more than the Peruvian starting 11.

Peru must be one hell of a team to be so shite yet in the semis then...

PKs are mostly luck

Bolivia comfortable beating Peru but made a mistake of subbing a player in the last 10 minutes of the game... peru was too incompetent to realize it and it had to be Chile who filed the complaint

Conmebol's last WCQ wast one of the worst in years and peru had an above average and that was enough to qualify.

In his prime, king Vidal would easily be worth more than the Peruvian starting 11.

Chile and Brazil are lucky to be here as well then.

LUCK. 2nd worst team of their group and they didnt show anything special versus Uruguay winning via PKs. Uruguay was disappointing and peru was above average but nothing worthy of praising .now if they had won convincingly after their disastrous group performance.

"Peru was the only team that came out to play Brazil " xD that's coming from the same guy who said Mexico didnt deserve any credit for playing Brazil during the WC in Brazil equal and getting a point out of it.

Mexico was pinned in their own half in that game. It took Ochoa to keep you in that. Nothing special about it, as Venezuela and Paraguay have proven. Please, stop lying.

It's a cup tournament, luck is part of the competition. I didn't see you saying the same shite when Portugal finished 3rd in their group in Euro 2016. And how many games did Portugal win in the groups? In a group containing giants like Iceland and Austria xD
