Vardy for Leicester's player of the decade purely because he's nearly hit 100 goals in 5 seasons and one of those seasons was where we were involved in a relegation battle. Premier League winner and has stayed loyal to us for the entirety of his Premier League career. Scores all kinds of goals and I think is still vastly under-rated despite having better goal tallies than several other players who scored less in their PL time.

Team

De Gea

Azpilicueta - Kompany - Terry

Yaya

Salah - Fabregas - D. Silva - Hazard

Kane - Aguero

Honourable mentions - RVP, De Bruyne, Suarez, Vardy, Mahrez, Cech, Rooney, Sterling, Van Dijk, Zabaleta, Ramsey, Sanchez (Arsenal only)

Alternative Team

Schmeichel

Simpson - Morgan - Huth - Fuchs

Mahrez - Drinkwater - Kante - Albrighton

Vardy - Okazaki

The formation is a bit risky, but the reason I didn't opt for full backs is because I believe there hasn't been any great ones, whereas there has been loads of options in midfield and attack.

Decades are 2011 to 2020. We started on the year 1-10, not 0-10 or 0-9. So Cicero’s decade is actually 11 years.

More in the realms of lesbian porn which holds interest for a bit I admit.

@Carnivore Chris XI is full on gangbang with pissing in there too and even some of @Panna King finger licking satay sauce involved for a bonus round!

Eh? Surely decades is 01/01/10 to 31/12/2019?

Nope, that would mean that we started on 01.01.00 - 31.12.09 Our calendar  starts on the year one not year zero

A decade starts on 1 and ends on 0. 2001 till 2010 for stance, or 11-20.

Nah.

When you lump in decades as an era, like the 70s, 80s, 90s etc it means 1970-1979, 1980-1989 etc. Not 1971-1980.

Cambridge English dictionary:
a period of ten years, especially a period such as 2010 to 2019

Collins English dictionary:
A decade is a period of ten years, especially one that begins with a year ending in 0, for example 1980 to 1989.

Dictionary.Com
a period of ten years beginning with a year whose last digit is zero:the decade of the 1980s

That is a nominal decade. If you were to use that definition the years 1-9 cannot be defined into a nominal decade. Though a decade is properly defined by any set of ten years, but by using the set definition of a nominal decade (0-9) would mean we will always have one decade that is only 9 years long as the first decade starts at 1 not  0. I don’t get why it is so difficult for people to comprehend

Player - Vardy. The bloke's an absolute miracle. The ultimate rags to riches story and is year in, year out proving it was no flash in the pan and that he is in fact a genuine top class striker. I think he's as good now as he's ever been.

Team -

GK - Schmeichel - Easiest pick you can imagine. Has been our keeper since 2011 and has played 90% of the games since then. Title winner.

RB - Ricardo - This one was hard because you've got to weigh achievement up against ability, but I think Ricardo's ability gives him the edge over Simpson. A genuine top class right back who'd not look out of place at any team in the world in my opinion.

CB - Morgan - Has been in the team since 2011, captained us to a Championship and then Premier League title. For both longevity and achievements he couldn't not be in it.

CB - Huth - For me the key reason we survived in 2015, and a big reason we won the Premier League. The absolute definition of solid but unspectacular. An organiser and a battler.

LB - Fuchs - Chilwell gives him a run for his money but Fuchs is still the king. Has the title achievement, more games for us than Chilwell. A solid defender and an excellent left foot. On a free too, an outstanding signing.

CDM - Ndidi - The other non-title winner that makes my XI. Ndidi has been a revelation since arriving in 2017 and is approaching his best ever level of performance this year. He's got a very big future in the game and I think he deserves his place.

CM - Kante - Playing both him and Ndidi would be against all laws. Kante doesn't have the longevity, but for me he was our best player in 2015/16, he patched up basically every weakness that team had. He was amazing.

CM - Drinkwater - There have been better players, but I think in terms of longevity and achievement Drinkwater has to be in too. Spent 6 years here, won the Championship and Premier League, got capped for England and was robbed of Euro 2016 by Hodgson picking on reputation over performance. All considered he deserves to make this.

RW - Mahrez - Simply the most talented player I have seen in a Leicester shirt. Hasn't done himself any favours with our fans with the way he left, tried to leave, and recent comments but an actual POTY winner at Leicester is remarkable. Impossible to not include.

LW - Albrighton - Another key part of the Premier League winning side, scored our first ever Champions League goal (and winner over Sevilla), has been like our Milner since joining in 2015. Couldn't be left out.

ST - Vardy - Already explained. Vardy will likely make my team of my lifetime when I'm retired. Nothing short of a club legend and still going as well as ever.

Subs

Evans - Has been a big reason for Leicester's improvement in defence. No matter how many Man Utd fans tell you that we're bitter because Maguire left, he HAS outperformed him ever since he got here. A leader but not quite making the first team, simply due to the achievements of others (though I think he's better than Morgan).

Chilwell - Really coming into his stride at left back for us now, but hasn't quite achieved what Fuchs has. Could well surpass him though.

Simpson - Very hard to leave out one of the title winners but I think Ricardo's ability is just impossible to ignore. Simpson is very limited but the bloke could defend, and we needed that in our disciplined system.

King - On ability he doesn't make the 18, on the fact he's been here throughout that ten years (save the odd loan spell out) and won League One (admittedly in 2009), the Championship and the Premier League. Deserves a testamonial.

Maddison - Mainly gets in on ability, he's starting to become a key part of this very exciting young side we have. Misses out through lack of title. Cracking player.

Okazaki - The other title winner I had to leave out although this one was even harder than Simpson. An extremely selfless player and possibly the hardest working I can remember.

Ulloa - Top scorer in 2014/15 when we stayed up, stepped up on two notable occasions in the title season with last minute goals (Norwich and West Ham). Ended sourly but deserved to make the 18.

Honourable mentions

Cambiasso - Classy player, not here long enough or in a successful enough side to make the 18 though.

Maguire - For all the Evans bit bashed Maguire a bit, Maguire was still good for us and deserves at least a mention.

Nugent - Big reason we were promoted. Couldn't quite cut the Premier League but shouldn't forget his contribution.

Knockaert - Another big reason we were promoted. You went through the emotions with this bloke. Forever remembered favourably here.

Tielemans - Very early days yet but he's just a class player. Falls down significant on longevity.

I dont think this thread is exclusive to Leicester mate. I was under the impression it was a combined team of the best players from any club over the last decade?

I've just read the OP. Seen exactly where I've gone wrong xD may do a PL one in which case. Going to be very very tricky that actually, using my criteria of how I did my Leicester one - longevity, achievements and ability.

That team is not far off mine to be honest. Massively struggled with left back personally although I'd put Azpilicueta RB. That's the best effort yet though.

It's actually really weird how much we've missed having a top left back in the Premier League. I saw someone's original effort at this and they had Baines at left back, about spat my drink out but having thought about it he's actually not far off is he?

Weird that so many leave out Suarez. When he was here, he ripped the league to bits.

I agree but he was only at Liverpool for a small portion of the decade and there have been other strikers who have been in the PL a lot longer this past decade who have been as good if not better.

He would be in an XI for Liverpool in the past decade however!

I don't think you can argue with Kane and Aguero ahead of him purely for longevity in this league. But yeah, I'd have to try and find a way to get him in if I did one
