  1. The parade yesterday was incredible, I usually get very anxious in large crowds of people but i felt at home, everybody was relexed and in a great mood.

  2. I can't ever remember a hangover like this. I feel terrible. Well I would feel terrible, if I didn't know why I'd drank so much. So it's a good feeling terrible, because at least I did this to myself for an excellent reason.

  3. Joshua seems a decent bloke to me, hope he comes back but I'm not sure he will, or not for long. One thing I'd say that differs between him and Fury is that I'm sure Fury loves the sport of boxing, he has an extensive knowledge of boxing history and most current fighters, in fact he actually said Ruiz is a good fighter a while ago. It might not make much difference in terms of fighting but I think the enthusiasm Fury has is a big help, especially at it usually means he understands his opponents better.

  5. My impression is that Trump´s instincts are isolationist. But at the same time, he has John Bolton on his staff, so you never know. A war against Iran would be a totally different animal from the post-WWII wars fought by the United States. The US, even at the highest point of Cold War, was always comfortably the strongest nation in the world, economically and in military strenght. That is not the case anymore, I feel like the US are one stupid war away from losing its supremacy. They don´t have more the breathing room for another stupid war and Iran is certainly a regional power to be reckoned with. Much like the World War 1 sealed the fate of british hegemony, a war against Iran could definitely end post-WWII era dominated by the US and begin a very different chapter in the history of the world.

  6. I'm absolutely supportive of immigration, but to me the troublesome aspect of much of the rationale rough which people justify immigration is that it is based on an economic logic in which continual growth is required. I think we've reached a point in economic history at which highly developed countries should cease to seek economic growth as a goal in itself. There is enough wealth overall. Our economic problems are no longer to do with the amount of wealth, but with allocation and distribution. Obviously, the problem is that capitalism is founded on a need for profits to grow which presupposes a growth-oriented model. But even if we even want to maintain our current level, immigration would still be economically valuable, with an overall ageing population, not to mention the tendency for immigrants to help lessen particularly acute labour shortages such as in healthcare. And finally of course immigration has social and moral justifications which go beyond economic quantification.

  8. Best game of the tournament so far. Twists and turns throughout, especially England's batting innings. I know they've not lost yet but there can't be that many times where a team loses when chasing even though 2 of their players get centuries...

  10. Yeah - I follow this little dude on Twitter since I heard about his passion when he presented his Lego stadium in Mainz. Gotta love his dedication! The kid loves German football... Weserstadion is coming along nicely!

  11. Looks amazing... Been looking forward to it for quite a while now; the whole Ford vs Ferrari rivalry in the 60s is a great story and the trailer comes just right in time before this year's Le Mans race About time for a proper racing movie as well... Steve McQueen's Le Mans is still my favourite, and it's almost 50 years old... Hope this one is good!

  13. I think so. Definitely for our own continent’s interests yes. This isn’t talking about that invention of a European army, but a combined, strategical and powerful defence of European interests. We then have even more competitive power.

  14. It's wake up time now for Josh now he has been beaten, great heavyweights of the past like Joe Louis, Ali, Lennox Lewis were beaten and lost their title(s) but they always came back as a winner and won their title(s) back, I am not saying that Josh is in the same category of the ones I mentioned because in their days there were a lot of good heavyweights around but nowadays there are not. There is only 1 heavyweight who was never beaten and that was the late, great, Rocky Marciano, 49 professional fights and 49 wins and he retired truly undefeated, he only lost one fight in his career and that was when he was an amateur so Josh can do it but if he was fighting in an era where you had the likes of the 3 above I mentioned plus the likes of Larry Holmes, 'Smoking' Joe Frazier, George Foreman, a young Mike Tyson, Henry Cooper etc he would have had to be something special in beating them. Anyone of the names I mentioned above would have beaten any heavyweight around nowadays, heavyweight boxing has never been the same since Lennox Lewis retired I am afraid to say, boxers of the past would have 15 brutal rounds to try and come out on top, nowadays it is 12 rounds only.

  15. https://immigrationlab.org/working-paper-series/can-exposure-celebrities-reduce-prejudice-effect-mohamed-salah-islamophobic-behaviors-attitudes-2/ So given how the rest of the country feels about us, does he increase the prejudice effect everywhere else? Kind of explains why that non-Scouse blueshite lad on here out of the blue after not indicating he was a bigot anywhere else on the forum decided it was alright to give me & Mo some shite for being Middle Eastern though. A bit sad though that a football player can make people’s bigotry higher or lower based on who they support
