  1. I've been on paternity leave for the last 3 weeks... A lot of modern workplaces now are encouraging men to do this and my work offer up to 14 weeks paid leave inside the first year of the birth. So for the last 3 weeks I've woken up to this beautiful little face beaming up at me, and am planning my days around making sure she's getting cool experiences and challenges and mingling with other babies. It's been great tbh. I thought I might've been totally rubbish at being the lead parent but I think I've fared pretty well so far.

  3. https://www.ft.com/content/d6f56834-0f78-11ea-a225-db2f231cfeae Almost 200 economists including from the LSE, Oxford, and UCL, have had a piece published in the FT advocating Labour's economic plan. Blanchflower, the leader, has a track record of opposing Corbyn. Its important to stress - the Tories have nothing but Brexit and racial hysteria. Of course in England that is enough to win, but nonetheless it's important to realise there is no serious reason that the Tories should be winning.

  4. I’ve yet to see a single player not celebrate a goal and wait emotionless for a VAR check. Yet apparently all these goals are being tainted.....

  9. It would be funny if Duncan Ferguson took over. His method of discipline would be to just headbut anyone who was late for training

  10. Corbyn: Has some members in his party and other occasions that he should have dealt with better with regards to anti-semitism. The media: Corbyn is a danger to the country, a racist and not fit to be prime-minister. The Labour Party are inherently anti-semitic. Corbyn: Releases an entire separate manifesto on dealing with anti-semitism and all forms of discrimination against people's beliefs in the Labour Party, and on social media across the nation. Johnson: Uses the terms "bum boys", "piccaninnies with watermelon smiles" and likens Muslim women to "letter boxes" in articles he wrote personally. The media: Boris is known to be a bit controversial and split opinions at times. Member of the public with two brain cells to rub together: Will you apologise for using those terms in your articles when you were a journalist? Johnson: Well if you look hard enough at the things that anyone says then I'm sure you'll find things that could be interpreted as offensive (so no). The media: CoRbYn'S £500 kAzIlLiOn TaX rAiD oN yOuR wAlLeT! The British public: Still vote Conservative.

  13. As much as I dislike VAR, league tables 'without VAR' are on a par with combined XIs, It's just meaningless drivel. Goals totally alter games. You cannot draw a definitive result based on one decision unless it was effectively the last kick of the game. Example - Leicester v Tottenham. Non VAR table gives Tottenham the win as they go 0-2 up through Aurier - goal is chalked off for offside. This doesn't factor in that Tottenham have thrown away 0-2 leads on several occasions, nor did it factor in that VAR actually stopped Leicester going 1-0 up in the first half. How can you possibly say for sure? I absolutely admit we've been one of VAR's main beneficiaries but those kinds of tables are just absolute drivel and typical of the excuse making culture of today.

  14. Yeah I reckon Poch would definitely prefer to commit to a massive rebuild project at Everton instead of walking into Bayern, Madrid or Man Utd. Nailed on.

  15. 3 years of the current status quo would totally reshape peoples perceptions of what is a fair and reasonable decision though mate. I swing around on this topic but as the season wears on my patience has faded. It's a contact sport and I think if you slow it down and watch replays you'll find 100 little bits of Argy Bargy between players and I'm getting the impression that VAR will only result in a further increase in hypersensitivity that was already pretty bad with standard calls etc. At the moment I would prefer it to be scrapped for the rest of the season and send some people back to the drawing board to work on how it can better reflect common sense decisions. "Because technology" is not a good enough excuse for the current system with its actual increased levels of variability and microscopic precision offsides...
